Hi I have observed when I wear mesh shoes there is no foot smell even after long and many use.. But when I use leather or sneaker then feet smells even after 1 use.. So is it true that mesh shoes are better for smell??

Mesh shoes can be more breathable, unless they have a waterproof membrane such as Gore-tex or Sympatex. Most brands nowadays don't make real leather shoes. There are now many imitation leathers and you'll want to check the labels to confirm the composition of the upper materials. Some leather shoes also have the liner and upper glued together, which results in the footwear not being breathable, as the layer of glue won't allow sweat to penetrate. Leather insoles with activated carbon can help reduce moisture and heat buildup within the footwear. A leather shoe with a fabric liner still can get very warm and hence cause the foot to sweat more. As for your question. Smell in the footwear is created by bacteria multiplying in a moist and warm environment. Therefore, if the foot stays cooler in the mesh shoe, it will cause your shoes and feet to smell less.

Which is better mesh or leather for boots?
@FootGeekzTV Жыл бұрын
I would say that's a personal preference. You also have access to Polyurethane uppers in footwear now, as well as rubber. Leather will keep your feet drier, unless the mesh boot has a Gore-Tex or other waterproof liner. In some cases the mesh option may feel softer on the foot than the leather option. However, there are also very supple leathers available.

Mesh or leather for running???

Mesh would be lighter weight and more responsive to running movements.
