After dropping 80 points on Tuesday, the S&P 500 rallied to finish green for the week. Have key "end of the pullback" hurdles been cleared or is the door open to additional downside?

I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.
@frankedwardarkАй бұрын
Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850K.

This is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? I'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation.

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

Very possible! especially at this moment. Profits can be made in many different ways, but such intricate transactions should only be handled by seasoned market professionals.

The most significant lesson I gained from the stock market in 2023 is that uncertainty prevails, emphasizing the importance of humility. Adhering to a long-term strategy with a competitive edge is key

Certainty eludes everyone; thus, it's vital to establish your own methodology, handle risk, and adhere to your strategy unwaveringly. This commitment should endure challenges and successes, all while maintaining a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement.

Embracing uncertainty, I realized after five years that attempting to predict market outcomes through chart analysis was futile due to the unpredictable nature. My lack of a mentor led to six years of struggle. I transitioned to following the market's direction and adopting a straightforward, disciplined approach.

In summary: [a] Secular bull market intact. Secular trend driven by long term economic boom. 🐂 [b] Technology stocks like Apple and Nvidia showing signs of bullish trend ahead. 🐂 [c] Volatility to continue in May (seasonal trend) as part of the bullish trend. [d] Any pullback in stocks is a buying opportunity for the long term. 😊

You left out the reasons for all this. 1) Fed never actually stopped stimulating, and 2) There has been a continuous volatility crush (selling) every Wed through Friday that is being conducted by structured products.

If no break down of SNP 500 below its pivot weekly close of 4911, potential for its price action to grind up higher to see new high above 5264 to fulfill and continue its inverted head and shoulder upward reversal pattern still intact. Next week daily short term price action may now grind up higher to test above 5200 but unlikely break above its recent high of 5264 for profit taking round to try retest recent low of 4953. As no violation of 4911 with an end weekly close, SNP 500 may rebounce strongly to break above 5264. But in case end weekly support is violated with a close below 4911, any minor pull up will be sold down to test its monthly pivot support below at 4302.

Stocks have been terrible. I am not sure why your persistent optimism about indexes looks so good, when random stocks have just continued to be terrible, year after year. I am selling at profit things I bought a year ago, but I am also languishing in things I bought more than a year ago, at deep losses. This is not any kind of bull market.
@indianajones3315Ай бұрын
Because the indexes HAVE been bullish due to a coordinated volatility crush led by structured products. If you understand this statement you will understand why markets ARE bullish, been a great year so far. But it sounds like you’re trying to pick individual names (maybe “cheap” names like INTC?) that haven’t done well. It’s a SUPER bull market if you’re in the right names like MSFT and NVDA. Perhaps don’t overcomplicate it and just buy indexes like most people.
@stevenmix3723Ай бұрын
@@indianajones3315 XLK is up 165% over five years. That makes no sense in any reasonable long term that I can relate to. So yes, being in that bubble has been a super win. I just fail to see how it can possibly be a bull case today. XLRE, on the other hand, is flat for five years. XLF is not much better. I have never see any market this narrow. Entire foundation sectors are not even close to participating. It's all air at the top.
@jamesbensonjazzguitar4824Ай бұрын
I agree with Steven mix that it’s best for most of us to stick with the indexes, the right ones at the right times. But if we choose to buy individual stocks, the concepts being presented here can be applied quite handily. When a stock price starts breaking through key levels of support, these are times for concern and possible corrective actions, regardless of what we as individuals might think about the company involved. I have learned this lesson the hard way.
