I always play power chords with just two fingers - pointer and ring. I do it no matter how many strings. Not sure why, but it was more comfortable when I was learning. Sometimes I wish I could use multiple fingers like you do because it occasionally limits my ability to play open strings behind my ring finger without some creative positioning. It also makes it a bit hard to move back and forth between power chords and barre chords. Well, maybe I should try to work on that! I love power chords, though. People think they’re only for electric guitar to play punk, metal, rock, etc., but they are quite powerful and impactful on acoustic guitars. They also are useful for any genre! I use them a ton!

This is fun! Power chords are one of my favorite things to teach. They are simple yet powerful, thus power chords! 😁 I love the chord progression you’re doing here! Sounds great and fun to play!

Great lessons and I love that guitar but my last is the Mackenize and Marr.

Mac Marr guitars are awesome! You won't go wrong on those beauties. My White guitar turns 8 years old this year and it gets better with age🩷

Challenge accepted... POWER haha .... Kind of useful thought is thinking 7th chords cause of a whole step higher and lower is like the same chord with colors...A song like as tears go by you can tell they were playing around with that concept! Fun so going D or F # can be like an E7 but you arent playing the whole thing just a rhythm. Also seeing how many strings of ones and fives of other power chords you can accomplish ... G pretty easy one(if youre ok damping the 5th str)...F maybe people could find it easier than regular F with str 5/4 on fret 2 n str 3 n 2 on fret 4/5

Years ago I taught a student how to play power cords on his electric guitar, and for a moment he looked like he had met Jesus himself. He suddenly understood how the local high school band was able to sound that professional. He really saw the light that night. 😊

Its true. Like the old hymn says “power power wonder working power”🤣 you did a good thing teaching your students that method. They are probably still playing and having a blast❤️
