A 1966 Ford GT40 sold tonight for $6.3 million on Mecum Auctions. Several vintage 60's hot rod cars went for $125,000 to $250,000. Cars that bought new for around $4-6000 at the time now worth a quarter of a million. Wow!

*_The collectors that buy at HA auctions are more often than not so rich it doesn't matter what they pay. All sales prices are +20% to HA, then there's tax for the buyer, is this correct? So, what is that what they win the auction for +25%? A $100K item costs the buyer $125K, maybe? Or is it more?_* *_I was most surprised HULK 181 CGC 9.9 was not put up for auction. The movie was postponed, that might be the reason. I guess it will be up next January auction at HA-but HA will outbid to get it for themselves._* *_That Captain America in a CGC 9.9? The Hulk #1 7.5 which sold as a ‘22 high over 100k also has a notation of “Jack Kirby written in Pen on first page” so as a signed copy, the slope may not really be in a pull back excluding that copy

The GSX #1 CBCS 9.8 popped up right at the bottom of your screen when you stopped. I think in 2024 the margin between CGC & CBCS will close more.

Congrats on the Albedo 2 value bump! 🥳🎉 Knowing what you know now though, do you risk auctioning now/in the near future, do you hold and wait for it to appreciate, or do you list it at a fixed price and hope those buyers see it and pay up? 🤔 I honestly wouldn’t know how to capture that 55K price tag. Auction seems risky, but it may sit forever on a fixed listing.

Auctions are up and down depending on who's bidding, but the bidders in this auction are people with a high net worth. The down market does not affect these individuals as much as the lower and middle classes.

A lot of Batman #1s have been comic to market at Heritage, which has depressed prices for the book.

That Superman sold for $2.6M on HA in 2021 then resold for $1.6M last year in a Goldin auction then just resold for $2.3M back on HA So mix if platform and variability. The 9.8 ASM #1 was the 9.6 which sold for 550k last year and was CPR and regraded as a 9.8 . If you look st it in high res photo - seems like a gimme with color breaks. But nice arbitrage.

When i look at these high prices i feel discouraged to continue collecting. If i could own the high grade comics i love i wouldn't sell them for any price but that's just me.

First, thanks for the video. It's interesting to see what the grails are doing, especially since they're rarely put up for sale in these conditions. One thing about collecting comics as an investment is that it requires a great deal of patience. The two major events that caused an increase in comic values since 2000 were the release of the movie Iron Man and the counter-intuitive dramatic price increase that took place during the pandemic when other investments dropped dramatically. So what's next? Is superhero fatigue a thing and is it all going to fade? Will Marvel bring in Doom to save the MCU? Will bringing in the FF and X-Men reinvigorate Marvel? Is it time to go all in on DC, whose Silver and Bronze Age keys seem a lot cheaper and Gunn setting them up to be on par with Marvel? Or will they go bankrupt first (WB/Discovery has been losing money for awhile) Will Gen Z's "rethinking" of classic characters on screen drive down the prices of comics that are treasured by Boomers and Gen X? And just how valuable will FF 48 become as the Silver Surfer takes over as Marvel's most popular character as a result of the Apple Vision Pro making 3D commonplace and the coolest Apple Vision Pro game of 2030 is Surfing with the Alien, with, of course, a Joe Satriani soundtrack. (I admit, the last one sounds like a long shot, but a 3D SS game just seems like a really, really cool idea).

I remember the silver surfer nes game back in the 80s. It was horrible 😂 but yes an Apple vision game would be awesome. Can’t wait for more of a meta verse experience. Then off to the matrix. Hook me up into the simulation please
