PRS is so lucky. He's the only guy to discover that only the most expensive woods with the biggest markups happen to sound the best on a solid body!

That is a painfully beautiful guitar. I can't imagine not bonding with a guitar like that if I owned it. I wonder if people are just scared of marring the perfection with play wear ? I would play it like I stole it !!
@squealingpigguitars24382 ай бұрын
I do agree that is a factor, playing these guitars can be intimidating as they’re so damn beautiful. It’s like playing the Mona Lisa or something 😂 I definitely wouldn’t want to put a scratch in one of these beauties.

@@josephfigueroa3527 I guess. I have some pretty nice guitars, finished as nicely. I manage to play them hard without marking them up though. I like guitars that bring me things I don't expect too, things that make me play differently or create sounds I had not planned on. I don't have a PRS, not for any reason, just that the right guitar never appeared at teh right time for me. They are wicked expensive here in Australia.

Man… I am actually thinking about selling my very last private stock because I can’t with the way it sounds… I tried every pickups from 57/08 to Tremonti set passing by 58/15, always private stock range. I recently trade in the Private stock 24 Floyd rose Acqua violet I bought from you ( you played fade to black with it) for a R9 Murphy lab. Today I’d like to trade in or sell my last private stock for a new MM Axis… because I have in my little collection a MM JR 7 strings and it really roasts my Private stock with Tremonti pickups… I don’t know if the problem is the 25” scale but the neck pickup never sounds good on a PRS, always too “muddy”…
@johnbach23802 ай бұрын
a longer scale make a guitar sound, if all else equal brighter, unsure if it that the issue of it being 'muddy'. I sold my Gibson r9 and r8 because they sounded kind of meh, and there were build quality issues on both. Still looking for a Gibson to keep as I love the look of a Les Paul. Still rock a couple of PRS Private Stocks w m pickups.
@squealingpigguitars24382 ай бұрын
Hi mate! Thanks for commenting. From my experience of owning PRS guitars (I’ve had a modern eagle Quattro a few years ago) I had a similar problem. I could never get it to sound like I wanted it to sound. Whenever I compared it to my Les Paul it just sounded muddy in comparison. I changed the pickups to bareknuckles and it really improved that guitar. I love PRS guitars but their pickups can be muddy in some models. I didn’t get that with this private stock, it had a nice bright tonal character which was very pleasing but that isn’t always the case. I guess you just have to find the right one for you. Musicman are also pretty “dark” sounding guitars, especially the majesty models 🤟also I loved that guitar you traded in, it sounded awesome 🤟 I remember playing fade to black on it. Thanks

I live in Canada & started playing guitar in 2001. I have played a Core model probably in 2002? I ha a S2 at the end 2020. That guitar was great the only reason I traded it for a Revv amplifier was that I misread the specs on the website & the neck was uncomfortably small for me. I traded it after a little more than a year of owning it & trying to make it work for me. I Canada or at least where I live, it's pretty rare to see any level of PRS in the store. You'll see that they carry the brand online, but depending on if it's an SE, S2, CE, Core, or any other level of PRS, you're given a delivery date after putting a down payment on that guitar. Usually 30 days unless it's in stock in another city. S2 is great, so I assume the Private Stock guitars are REALLY good. I'm a fanboy of PRS!

Hi man! thanks for checking out the video, that's awesome! The private stocks are incredible, firstly they look badass!! The wood used is actually jaw dropping and the figuring is top notch. They sound great, not too different from the core lines if I'm being honest but they do have some awesome necks. This has a zicote neck and it has silky smooth satin feeling. Thanks for checking out the videos man! Subscribe if you enjoy. Cheers \m/

Canadian here and PRS fan. I have 6 Cores. PS's are now about 20k Canadian. Absurd. Of course even a Hollowbody II Piezo is over 10k. Cores are sitting at 7k non ten tops, 8500 10 tops. You really need to avoid paying MSRP in Canada at all cost. i' don't bother with SE's. They don't feel like PRS's to me. Bad guitars? no, but not the same. The Vibrator Bar, Guitar Brando, Cosmo Music. Try any of them, they will deal. I've gone over to Anderson guitars now, trying them out as PRS has gotten crazy $$$ that for the same cost I can get a custom made boutique guitar by an even more respected builder. But the PS PRS's are insanely gorgeous....if you are rich.

@@GoofieNewfie Agreed! I LOVE everything about the Core & 10 top models. I did have an S2 model from 2020 until late 2021. Traded it because of my error reading the specs. I'm physically disabled as of 2008 with really no fun money. I'd have to go with an SE if possible?

I had three PRS guitars a core 594 in Lemon colour a Australian eagle in whale blue curly top and 25th anniversary swamp ash special which i have since sold the other two hang on my wall in my studio and i don’t often play them i am more a fender tele guy but that’s not to say they are better or worse its just preference i also have a few strats and a couple of gibsons which i have to be in a certain mood to play but the guitar world is truely a magical place to be especially when you are playing well.
