Allow me to alleviate your concerns: 1) Up until now, Burhaan kept calling her Miss Behzaad; after overhearing the mistreatment she received, he softens towards her and calls her Miss Nashwa…she says thank you because there was a constant going back and forth between them regarding her name, and she doesn’t know that he overheard everything so she’s maintaining her dignity and professionalism… 2) He asks her out to coffee so he can openly discuss her dilemma about going against her family… 3) He’s not dismissive but a practical lawyer who thinks with his head…case in point, when he’s talking to one of his clients who accuses him of being friendly with the other lawyer and Burhan says we are still colleagues…plus, he’s Nashwa’s mentor as well and has to guide her on how to rule based on facts rather than emotions… 4) There’s more to what happened that night than what’s being shown…it’s deliberate and unraveling very brilliantly…Amaar may not be as culpable as he’s being shown…there’s an intrigue value that keeps the viewer guessing…

The critique on #QEJ today was totally unwarranted when it was the best epi until now. The character arc of Burhan so far is so apt his constantly addressing her as Miss Behzad and his softening after overhearing her argument with Ammar on phone which brought out his concern by calling her Miss Nashwa I thought it was brilliant and at that moment when Nashwa was in an emotional turmoil after the fight it came as a soothing balm when Burhaan addressed her as Nashwa. Also it was brilliant in the way he pulls her strings when in between serious discussions it is very intentional so that to make her realize as a lawyer she has keep her emotions aside and has to have a practical approach. He is behaving like a lawyer when u have to approach a case or witness. He constantly throws her off balance which is very intentional. Its better u guys do review when not so distracted. It was very disappointing today.

Good point. I think he can trying to balanced her emotional situations, after knowing about whole situation by the phone. He trying to considering her by his personal & emotional level. That's why he'll be reopened the case on the basis of Nashwa point of view. Than he'll be preparing her as a good lawyer by his professional style for this case.

Qarz e Jaan - what a stellar drama. I think they left us wondering if Ammar committed the crime or not in order to hook the audience. We did not see what happened after Ammar took Mahi to the room upstairs, even though we had clues including the drink spike and the scratches on his neck in the morning. He was shown to be nervous about the outcome as he has done similar actions in the past but this time it got too far. I don't think Burhan is written as a weak character, just that there is a lot of mystery around him. So far we only know that he is Asim's son, nothing more about him. The way he speaks to Nashwa is very intriguing. He is fond of Nashwa yet he also maintains a professional decorum. He called her Ms. Nashwa instead of Ms. Behzad for the first time hence Nashwa thanked him for it despite the havoc at home. It is the slow-burn romance that is building up between Nashwa and Burhan. I am really enjoying those small moments between them.

Really? I don't think they have left any doubt about ammar being one of the rapists on that night
@adrija172 күн бұрын
The confusion around Ammar's character in QarzEJaan was intentional. Nameer Khan is doing well. It is an important lesson around the fact that a hardened criminal isn't one-dimensional, it is one of the most realistic portrayal of a perpetrator, in my view. Better than a one-tone presentation. Some of the most notorious serial killers were extremely charming, take for example, Ted Bundy.

Qaez e Jaan is a fantastic example of how good direction and execution can really elevate a drama. We have to give a lot of credit to Saqib Khan because the performances of the entire cast are simply incredible especially Yumna and Osama who I’ve never seen perform like this before. Yumna’s acting is truly amazing ufff what can I say about her especially in her emotional scenes. I really love the moments between Nashwas and Bisma both the mother and daughter deserve all the joy in the world. I find myself watching their scenes over and over again. For those who are confused about the characters and storyline of Qarz e Jaan just hang in there because the writing isn’t confusing or misleading at all. The story is crafted in such a way that many elements remain intriguing mysteries for us.

QEJ: not sure what you both have understood from this episode but it was clear to viewers why each character is reacting the way that they are. We are still unsure as to the level of involvement of Amar as it’s left open and will unravel as episodes go by hence what happened that night in conversations is muted. Regarding Nashwa she’s aware of gang raping but there’s other bigger crimes like murder she’s implying and also this is her own cousin. You can’t assume she’s emotionless and will think the very bad of her cousin even if they don’t get along or he’s shown to be a typical bad boy. She also can’t let her guard down around Burhan as at the end of the day he’s her boss and she’s maintaining a level of professionalism and with Burhan I think the writer kept him like this. Perhaps he knows more about Nashwa and her family than he’s letting on - again we don’t know every episode is giving new information about the characters. You have to go with the flow and stop reading so much into it. It’s not a typical drama going down the typical route. Main thing is audience is engaged.

QeJ: Burhaan called Nashwa by her name instead of Ms. Behzad, for the first time despite her repeated requests. Why? My theory is that Burhaan knew from the beginning who Nashwa was. His father had probably told him about his past relationship with Nashwa’s paternal family and that is why he bought his old house also. Hence he considered Nashwa one of them. After hearing her arguing with her family on the phone, he realised that she was not like them and had her own identity as Ms Nashwa and not as Ms Behzad.

Some scenes are intentional in QeJ and twists will happen for sure.It is still not depicted clearly whether ammar was involved in the assault to maintain the suspense but he definitely knows and was present when the crime happened. Also it is not mentioned straightaway that ammar made the videos. There is something more to it. And Nameer had mentioned in interviews it’s not a negative character. I am reading that Nashwa and ammar will get married..if ammar did not assault and is being framed then it’s fine but still he was present there so he should be punished..but if it turns out ammar was also involved directly then in that case it will be very absurd and disturbing if nashwa agrees to marry ammar. But really enjoying yumna, Deepak’s and Nameers performance. Loved the scene where burhan addresses her as miss nashwa when he heard she was being mistreated by the family. The dadi is so dangerous..she will get Maheen killed.

Qarz e Jaan: The short of it is it's fabulous story-telling/writing and performance par excellence, from everyone. The story was clearly not written to divulge the entire plot in the first seven episodes but will unravel over time, that's much appreciated as it leaves sth to the audience's imagination, thank god! Burhaan has a good sense of humour, duty and integrity in the way he handles junior colleagues and his clients. He understood the gravity of the situation which is why he didn't agitate Nashwa further by not calling her by her preferred name during their call. Ammar is shown in the ost to have somewhat of a grey shade instead of all black, looking forward to find out what really happened at that party. Yumna is a doll (I mean it in the most respectful way!) as very few can do vulnerable on screen like she can. The mother-daughter pair has great dynamics ❤

I, for one, still think there is still more to Ammar's story. Maybe he was an accomplice to it, by spiking the drink and dumping her on road, but not actually one of the offenders. Maybe he was passed out when this happened, and when he wakes up, his friend tells him he did it too. And because of the effects of the drugs and alcohol he doesn't quite remember and thinks he might have actually done it. Because his friend makes it a point to remind him he was excessively drunk. That doesn't make him any less offending though. Because he was still an accomplice.

I am a little confused about why the hosts think Ammar was presented inconsistently. Getting someone intoxicated so that they aren't able to object and then having sex with them or facilitating someone else's sex with them is rape. It doesn't matter whether Ammar drugged her so the others could attack her, whether he drugged her to have sex with her himself, or whether he violently attacked her to have sex with her. All three are rape. If there is nuance, it's on the margins and/or aggravating factors (so the use of violence would be an additional crime to the crime of rape), but I think he has been presented consistently as a rapist.

Aamna - apologies in advance if this message comes off as preachy-that’s not my intention……but without voice and tone, it might sound that way. The right term to use instead of ‘normal’ is ‘neurotypical.’ It’s used to describe people whose brain function is considered typical, as opposed to ‘neurodivergent,’ or ‘neurodiverse’ which includes conditions like autism, ADHD and other intellectual disabilities. Using ‘neurotypical’ instead of ‘normal’ helps avoid implying that neurodivergence is abnormal or lesser. I know you didn’t mean anything offensive, but since you reach so many people, you’re in a great spot to help by using the correct terminology. 🤗 On a side note-so glad to see this type of representation in Pakistani dramas. The rise of disabilities in children is so prevalent (globally), and too often they are seen as pariahs in certain parts of the world. It’s important to show that Allah’s creations come in all different forms. 💛

TMNoN: The subtle messages it gives are amazing. In the previous ep, when she meets the guy and lets him know that she was sharing the location, his pic and deets with her uncle.. great message on women safety 👏 In this ep, when she tells her mother about the cousin teasing her and the mother clearly asks if he's been harassing her... again as compared to the other dramas where mothers are completely clueless, this one was a great message for mothers. They do need to pay attention to their daughters' behaviour if they're uncomfortable with someone and ask such things clearly. And most importantly, the taboo of male rape that this drama is dealing with n giving awareness about is super impressive.

For Qarzejaan, I think the story still has to unfold. Family members were still in confusion about whether Amaar had actually committed the crime or not. And Nashwa has not met the victim yet so she's accusing him of the possibility. But Amaar is the culprit for sure whether he's involved or not. Writing lapses are there in certain places but the actors are doing a phenomenal job. I hope we'll get this clarity in the upcoming episodes. One thing about Nashwa is she cannot outbursts/act all of a sudden as she and her mother still live in that house and are dependent on them so the fear factor is there for sure. Now that Nashwa stood for Maheen, in the upcoming episodes, we'll get to see how she sets her mother free and stands for justice

QarzEjaan -mystery regarding aamar character is intentional....blurred lines & confusing things will get resolved...keep questioning....aamna & hassan, about Nashwa thanking her boss, bcz he continously saying it & he get softer after hearing the quarelling of nashwa & aamar .....other than that barrister is mainly testing her..bcz nashwa is damn emotional but this profession doesnot allow this... also aamna & hassan u need to understand that nashwa family where they are coming from...bcz they hav hearing all those crimes from so long..never takes seriously regarding aamar nor nashwa cant even do anything..u r forgetting aamar mother even are not allowed to know about things, after getting also she doesnt hav a say..thats y nashwa said that " isse bada crime karega...tats a casual saying..its doesnt mean she is undermining maheen case... BTW this episode is one of the best for me whatever from the 6 episode we have seen

I love QeJ desire the flaws you have pointed out, which I completely agree to- be it Nashwa sounding off with that dialogue, or Ammar doing the call, or Burhan coming across as completely dismissive of Nashwa. And again, I would give the credit to Yumna zaidi, Deepak Parwani and Nameer- the rising star, for keeping me hooked. Beautiful beautiful acting. I feel like Nameer will go through a change of heart eventually, due to which that atmosphere was bulit

Yes that dialogue by Nashwa was very problematic, not because you cannot imagine it being said by anyone, but your self righteous heroine saying something outright ridiculous that she believes there is something worst than gang rape. Nashwa is a not a crusader I get that but also no morally upright right man or woman would believe this.

Also ammar he was made to be not exactly the villain in the first episodes because I am pretty he will marry Nashwa and at some point protect her too as seen in the ost that said its deeply disturbing to see people ship both of them consider ammar has done the worst most horrible crimes ever

QEJ : Usama is doing very well, better than the other drama roles he is appearing in, and he has shown great variety this year, but i feel he is trying a bit hard in his attitude, to look older and more experienced and wiser than Yumnas character. I would have liked to see Zahid Ahmed do this part. His impact, especially voice would have hit different. Zahid Ahmeds presence and voice itself can be a little intimidating. Just imagine the scenes if a young character like Nashwa had to go head to head in some scenes with a strong personality like Zahid, or overtake him, the screens would burn.

Its not surface level story. Burhan saying miss nashwa cuz he overhearing her mistreatment over phone.its obvious he would say miss nashwa for showing concern for her

In fact I liked the fact that they kept the audience busy contemplating whether or not Amaar was actively involved in the crime . In fact in Aye ishqe junoon , you both said it would have been better if they had not shown us actually what transpired in the room and kept us guessing for a while and here you are contradicting yourselves

This caption was not needed at all for a brilliant project like Qarze Jaan!! 100 percent comments of yours are understanding characters and storylines so it seems that neither writer or director are at fault and they should be appreciated instead of this “ confused and misleading “ caption.

Subject: Request for 'Haute Gold' Specials Hassan and Aamna, I'm writing on behalf of many fans who really want to see 'Haute Gold' made to celebrate the 15th years of 'Daastan' and 'Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishaan'. A Gold episode for each series could serve as a fitting tribute to their legacy. We sincerely hope you will consider our request and grant us the opportunity to celebrate these remarkable series in a truly special way. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, All Hauties

11:43 - "Meri Tashreef mein bahut dard hore hain" I spit out my morning coffee...I am a South Indian, don't speak Urdu and I NEVER thought that tashreef referred to someone's bottom. I just thought it was a literal translation of "sit". OMG..I am still laughing...so when people say "Tashreef leejiye" they are basically referring to other people's bottoms hahahaahahahahah omg.....LOL LOL I will never hear that sentence again and not think of this actual moment where I actually learned what Tashreef means LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Happy New Year, everyone!

Well, Regarding QeJan, I agree with you on Nashwa's dialogue k "koi barra crime karayga " .. However, for rest of the things,, I would say that , Nashwa said thanks to burhan for addressing her Ms Nashwa because iss sy pehlay , he was repeatedly calling her Ms baizaad. Burhan's and Nashwa's dialogues are mysteriously written, not badly written Again, Yumna as Nashwa is playing outstanding. And lastly, this episode was very very interesting , left so many gaps which will be filled in later episodes ( I hope so) 😊
