I did want to say this bc you are off on a few things, I just want to point it out for in case you decide to make a follow up video, in the final episode of the Batman episode 13 of season 5, robin confirms he is in middle school right before they take out the joining, he says “if that’s a shortcut to total knowledge, I’ll stick to middle school” in response to green arrow about Hugo strange. so that would confirm that he’s in the age group of 11-13 bc he’s in middle school. I’m sure it doesn’t make a big difference tho. Another thing is that in both future episodes, it’s covered in snow, that can easily mean that freeze was not defeated yet in the future in the teen titans episode & it can still connect, another thing is Scarface in the Batman has no correlation to teen titans Scarface, teen titans Scarface was made by brushugun, that confirms they are two different characters. So the only thing that can make it not in the same universe is killer moth, killer moth shows up in one episode & one episode alone in the Batman and that is season 4 episode 2. You can easily say that between the Batman & teen titans, he evolved as a villain. From robin middle school days to his late teens, a few years in between so that can give killer moth plenty of time to have evolved as a villain & he clearly would of had his daughter before he became killer moth. And in the first episode killer moth shows up in teen titans, robin clearly knows him, he knows who he is right off the bat, only thing he was surprised about was finding out he had a daughter but he knows who killer moth is, so now that I’ve cleared everything up, it’s safe to say that the shows take place in the same universe.

You haven't reached a dead end just yet. In The Batman (2004), Killer Moth is constantly trying to find a way to revert himself into a more human-like form. There's a small possibility where he could have succeeded resulting in his appearance in Teen Titans.

@SeanWheeler100

@@theinsp3ctor368 Teen Titans and The Batman were different universes. One didn't come after another. Robin appeared in The Batman after Teen Titans ended because Warner Bros didn't want to confuse people with two different Robins. And if they were in the same universe, then they should go in chronological order as DC set both shows in contemporary times. Teen Titans wasn't set in the future like Batman Beyond, and The Batman was never marketed as a prequel to Teen Titans. So their placement on the timeline should be when they were released, and if so, the Batman references don't make sense in Teen Titans. And even if you say The Batman was a prequel to Teen Titans, not only is Killer Moth completely different between the two shows, but Robin didn't seem to know Killer Moth in Teen Titans.

5:33 about the Scarface point, it’s worth noting that the Scarface of Gotham city and the Scarface of Tokyo are completely different characters. The scarface from teen titans trouble in Tokyo what is a fictional character brought to life by dark magic. So you could very easily head canon that this is an artistic reinterpretation of the actual Scarface. Alternatively you could just say that they happen to have the same name, since let’s be honest Scarface isn’t that unique of a villain name.

Killer Moth's appearance changing is exactly what happened in the comics. He knew he was lame, so he made a deal with the devil to be made into a moth monster during the Underworld Unleashed event in the comics. Maybe in this insatnce he made a deal to be less monstrous, hence his Teen Titans design.

It’s noteworthy that in both episodes that deal with the distant future the city is left in a almost apocalyptic winter as both episodes borrow some elements from the comic “the dark Knight returns“ (The Batman episode is far more obvious in that, but the teen titans episode features a cameo from the mutants) I would definitely consider the connections between teen titans and the Batman to be “fanon“. There’s nothing that straight up confirms they share a universe, but you could very easily fit them together and there wouldn’t be much, if any, contradictions. Edit: In the episode killer moth appears in the Batman he ends up getting mutated into a black and white monster. Although he looks notably different than the version seen in teen titans he borrows a lot of the same design elements. It’s not a perfect fit, but you can very easily work around the killer moth issue. Like I said, even if there’s nothing definitive putting these two shows together, most issues with them being said in the same universe could very easily be worked around so I see no real reason why they can’t share a universe

Grayson Robin at 'roughly 14' is new to me; almost every story I've looked at is 8~12. But 12's not far off from 14, so'z it's fine I guess. Also the Scarfaces are actually just two different characters with the same name. DC actually has diff villains (and heroes) with the same name. The Scarface from the TT movie is a drawing brought to life. Someone else in the comments probs mentioned this too. Also, for this same reason (diff char, same name), Killer Moth doesn't have to be a dead end.

yup, The Robin from 2004 being 14 was also weird to me (I am actually hearing this for the first time). The art style confused me as well cause he looked younger but talked like a teen Don't even start on Barbara I was shocked when she turned out to be a college student... but to be fair Harley in that show looks very young as well It kinda reminds me of that later art style of Batman the animated series that made women look very petite and young. In regards to Killer Moth's mutation, it is possible that he continued to mutate throughout his existence. Either the continued mutation was a natural progression to being exposed to the chemicals or the initial mutated Moth sought a way to limit his mutation to have the best of both worlds. We do see many times that Killer Moth is very skilled in genetic manipulation, I mean, look at the amount of the larva he makes that later themselves mutate. Assuming that those larva are genetic creations and not aliens or something, then I'd find it reasonable that Killer Moth could find a way to limit his own mutation later down the line when he appears in Teen Titans.

If we've learned anything about connecting things from the DCAU, it's that characters are gonna look different from each show. For example, The Penguin. In BTAS he looks more like Batman Returns Penguin and in TNBA he looks more comic accurate. The creators of Batman TAS & TNA explained the differences in costumes, villains and other characters are still in the same continuity. Many youtubers tried to debunk it but came to the conclusion that Bruce Timm wasn't joking. The differences between the Joker's appearances really caught me off gaurd but finding out they are in the same continuity was wild. Hope this helps.

Making the Bo Staff one of this version of Richard’s go to weapons in both “The Batman” and “Teen Titans” instead of a pair of Escrima sticks like most versions of Robin/NightWing use was an interesting choice. Probably because Tim Drake who was Robin in the comics at that time used a bo staff, but since Batman trained both in the use of many weapons it doesn’t exclude Dick and Tim from using the other’s preferred weapon. Besides, as a world class Acrobat, Dick probably also got the feel for a bo staff from the balancing stick Tight rope walkers used at Haley’s circus.

Regarding Killer Moth, he is a mutant moth so it could be that he changes over the couple years. You could also chalk that up to design inconsistencies. I mean Batman TAS and TNBA had character design inconsistencies too and we don't question them being in the same universe. I think a real killer of this theory is if Glenn or a higher up said so which they haven't. Or we saw TT Robin meeting a character he already met in The Batman. The Bat Embargo is not a confirmation, it just means they didn't want more than one robin around for fear of confusing people. it had nothing to do with the canonicity of the shows.

One point I would like to add: Both Robins behave oh so differently, and if TT's Robin is anything like Batman, it would mean '04's Batman is not TT's Batman. '04's Batman is a Kind Hearted Batman, being more reserved and Quiet in Earlier Seasons. Although he was more "mean" in Season 3, it's mainly because he doesn't want Batgirl joining him risking her life. Robin in The Batman '04 also is more Friendly and has fun being a Hero, While being less strict. I honestly can't see how the most kind-hearted passionate Batman created a Dick Grayson who's seen as a Serious rendition of Robin.

They should do a DtV movie (since they make them annually anyway) bridging the gap between the two shows, with Robin leaving Batman to found the Titans and The Batman Killer Moth turning into Teen Titans Killer Moth.

Wait!×5 i got an idea... Have it ever clicked to anyone that in certain teen Titans episodes that the theme song plays in Japanese are more comedic episodes and are not meant to take serious(now those are cannon for sure). So when we're comparing teen Titans to the Batman we can only compare the teen Titans episodes that are played in English. so some comparisons and conflicts you made to teen Titans and the Batman can't be fair unless teen titans episodes have the english theme. those are more serious and may correlate.

But then again did Robin actually know who killer moth was back then if he saw him in Teen Titans he would have been like a killer moth it's you but he doesn't recognize him at all...and he forgot to mention in the video the Teen Titans comic book where Robin and Starfire are kissing and Batman watches them with the same design from the Batman 2004

The puppet looking different could be explained away with the “different lens” explanation the DCAU uses. Killer Moth being a different guy works for me I don’t think it’s stupid lol. In the source material he’s been different people. In the tie in comic we see Batman of the Teen Titans universe and he looks like The Batman 2004.

I don't like how they changed barbras age to younger she was older in the comics old enough to be a full grown adult when Robin(Dick grayson was little)

I think it was because WB wouldn’t let them use Robin and they needed a kid sidekick.

What was the joke with LEGO Star Wars II? That Teen Titans ended the same year LEGO Star Wars II was released? That's not funny. LEGO Star Wars II was released in September. And 2006 also happened to be the year Sonic 06 came out, the Playstation 3 came out that year, and I can look up a list of things that happened in 2006. So what?

I think you're just lacking imagination, killer moth could've gone through a secondary mutation to look how he does in teen titans

I heard they didn't introduce Robin first on The batman because he's on Teen Titans. Is probably trure which is stupid those two shows are completely different and they both have different voice actors for Robin.

Robin in teen titans has to be like 18 or 19 since that was the age that dick left bruce and went out on his own

Before watching I’d like to say as a kid I made it my own head cannon the Batman and teen titans were cannon. The art style was close enough. But at that time I called cannon universes lol
