Better question: Should Philly want Lebron? I say no. Love Lebron but I don't see adding two similiar things on the same team, Lebron and Simmons. Also don't want to see in philly the style of basketball that Lebron likes to play now, living and dying by the three pointer. To appease him, wouldn't Philly need to bring in shooters? Who would leave to construct this dynamic? Lebron + Philly = imploding or exploding the roster there which I don't think is necessary for someone who may not be there more than 2 two years in a declining career. I say absolutely not. Philly should have picked up Kyrie which I was screaming to have happened.
@davidkim7585
@davidkim7585 6 жыл бұрын
Sixers need shooters even without LeBron. Every good team needs shooters to create space. Also adding LeBron does not mean blowing up the roster because he's a free agent and they have the cap space. They could literally just fit him in. And finally I disagree with your problem combining LeBron and Simmons. It's not like adding Kobe to the Iverson Sixers. These are two unique players who are inherently unselfish and like playing team basketball. For this reason along with so many others LeBron would probably love playing on this team. But the number one reason I think he could choose the Sixers is the defense. They would easily have the best defense in the league with a generational defensive big man in the middle. If LeBron is trying to win championships his goal is to beat the Warriors. A lineup with Simmons, LeBron, Covington, and Embiid would be like 3 Scottie Pippens and Hakeem.

Yes, Sixers need shooters without Lebron. My point is that they just need a few more pieces, they don't need Lebron. I don't want a Cleveland situation in Philly. I can see the Sixers trying to appease Lebron like Cleveland does, bringing his people, I don't want that situation.

The only thing Mitchell has over Simmons is scoring (only by 2-3pts) and range. But Simmons is much better at everything else (including being a more efficient scorer). He already has six triple doubles. Did Jenna seriously say that when teams are going against Philly, they are not always game planning for Simmons? That’s ridiculous. Also, people are acting like Mitchell is the only one on that team. Utah has some solid players. A team doesn’t just win all these games with one guy scoring only 18pts and having 2-3 assists and rebounds .

@kyleelpel9402
@kyleelpel9402 6 жыл бұрын
Frank D as a human, you should always look 4 years down the line especially with a work decision like this. If he joins Houston, he will be competing in the Warriors prime during Houston's prime. We've seen this act before. I wanna see Lebron end the Warriors dynasty as Philly gets into their prime in 2020 or 2021. He would be playing pf, his best position at age 33+. If he goes to Houston, the 2021 CONFERENCE FINALS will be a 36 year old Lebron (past his prime). We've already seen Lebron destroy the Cavs roster 2x and the Heat 1x. We don't wanna see him do it again. I want to see him build (like his initial plan was in Cleveland) a great team through years of leadership. That would be a super fulfilling championship and complete his legacy as a top 5 alltime, probably 2nd if he gets another ring.

John Stockton, Steve Nash, Jose Calderon, Tony Parker, any small traditional pg can last. The thing with Houston is that their prime lines up with GSW's prime, so he'd be playing in a 2 team nba for the next few years. At Philly, he could beat the warriors to end the dynasty in say 2020, and then start up a Philly dynasty

I think that Durant would be a better with the 76ers. I know he probably wouldn't leave the warriors, but as a warriors fan I would prefer seeing Curry have his team and have to carry it with Klay and let Durant have his team as he has proven to be a great 2nd option as a distributor. Lebron in Philadelphia, they lack shooting, and Lebron needs to be surrounded by snipers. He actually fits better in La if they got rid of Lonzo with the young shooters, but I hope he stays in Cleveland. I think Durant to another good team (not already great team) and Lebron staying in Cleveland would be Ideal for the NBA.
@stevieray1413
@stevieray1413 6 жыл бұрын
You reply one month later once everyone's already on the Sixers wagon as the team to beat? Yea the shooting looks good now, I have no idea why you would want another point guard (Lebron) who does nothing off the ball and takes 40% of offensive possessions off and at least 50% of defensive possessions off. This team is going to continue to develop and Simmons will probably be one of the premier point guards. Lebron's presence would not be beneficial to this process or the development of the league. (do you even watch Lebron play defense;)

The Rockets, Philly and Lakers are the best options right now but their could be some teams that can move players to get cap space. Lakers because they can get 2 max players and have space to resign Randle too if they package that Cavs pick with deng and a lot of developing talent with Ingram, Randle, Kuzma, Ball. Rockets because they have the best roster other than GS and wouldnt need to do too much in order to get the cap space. Philly because you have 2 superstars in Simmons and Embiid with cap space.

I hope he doesn't take less money to stay with them. I hated that Durant did it this year. It sets precedent for other players to take less money. Let's save the billionaire owners money. He's worth the super max and I don't know if the Warriors want to go that far into the luxury tax.

Lawrence McDonald it's all important. You learn that day one. It all ties together for a win. A person can score 60 points and still lose as a team. I've seen it before. Assisting is pretty much scoring as well. Rebounding is critical especially offensive rebounds getting your team second chance and third chances to score. It's all important. The game of basketball has never just been about scoring or which is more important. It's all important. Each thing whether it be scoring, assisting, blocks, steals, rebounding all impacts that game. I've seen where Steve Kerr said Pippen completely dominated a game and only scored 4 points, I also remember Magic saying it takes a special person to not score 1 basket but control the game. My college coach has said the same. So I don't agree with your assessment. Of course teams have to score. But teams also have to control the game, there isn't one thing more than the other. So I don't particularly agree with your assessment.

K Steve Assisting is also a product of having the ball in your hands so much with every play revolving around u with the way Westbrook and lebron play ball movement and player movement without the ball is a more successful offense than just one guy having the team rely on him making all the plays with one man getting most of the assist instead of moving the ball generating more passes as a team

Lawrence McDonald I know this. But what you said is false. All aspects of the game is important. You can't score or I should say be as efficient as you can if the offense isn't room correctly. I would say the floor general is more important than scoring. But again I'll take Steves, Magic and my college coach over a fan anyday. They all say scoring isn't the most important thing it second most important thing. It's controlling the game. However, I knew where you were going with it though.

K Steve Westbrook has more rebounds assists and triple doubles than Jordan but that doesn’t mean he’s better all around cuz mj is a superior defender and defense is half the game and is a way more efficient and dominant scorer

They always say oh wait, the landscape will be better next year. I think LeBron should close his eyes and go to Houston. Both those guys are in their primes. Go with Harden and Paul and you a 3-4 year window to win the chip. I mean with Lebron, Philly is right there to. But Houston would be better than GS in my opinion.

Even though I don't dislike Cris Carter, this shows seems to function better without him, Chris and Nick are probably the two smartest NBA analysts on FS1 and it would be a good contrast to Undisputed, which is more opinion-based and sensationalized. Only problem is that Broussard isn't an NFL guy, so unfortunately it could never happen.

I really do not understand that rumor unless somebody else (PG13, etc) is going there with him. That team is struggling to stay in the running for the playoffs and doesn't have the upside Philly has, I don't get why he would go there. I don't think Lebron/Whiteside/Dragic is exactly a championship core.

Don't see LeBron leaving Cavs unless they get swept by GS or even miss the finals. Houston is most likely if they show they can be competitive with GS. Salary may be an issue as he's stated that he'll never take a pay cut however Houston is tax free and he may be willing give it up for his legacy. Houston will have to gut their entire team and find a way to get rid of Ryan Andersons contract. Philly is an outside chance but if Embiid can show he can stay healthy, Simmons can continue developing maybe even show off a jump shot, Fultz can show why he was the consensus 1 pick and then prove they can be a playoff contender there's definitely a chance there.
