Great video yet again. The Catlins is one of my happy places. If your down that way again Pounawea about 15kms east of Owaka is worth a visit. There’s a camp there but we stay at the Owaka golf coarse $10 per vehicle per night with water and toilets it’s a Nzmca POP but doesn’t appear on their app also there’s New Haven there’s a camp there also but I know you prefer the freedom camping.

Yea Catlins is a great spot, I'm keen to see this area in the winter as well, I imagine it to be pretty miserable, but sometimes thats a story in itself.

I think it's the expectation verses reality, it wasn't what we had anticipated overall, but it still has all the gems, it's a lovely area which we wanted to revisit

Another great video. Thank you. Loved the scenery. Curry looked delicious. Well done Toby you are a good cockle cook. Those fritters looked yummy. Looked like the girls had tent well set up for the 2 of them. Guess Toby got outnumbered. Travel safe 🌞🤗🌞

ha ha thank you, he got so tired from the long days and playing outside, the caravan pretty much has black out blinds, so he can sleep in till 9am if he wants, but that tent, you'll be awake till 1030pm and awake again at 6pm... I think the girls do like having it just for them for a night or 2 as well... Toby loves his cockles, so cute that boy.

More brilliant footage and great experiences around the South. I've been catching up with the last few videos, it's great to see you getting further afield, as well as re visiting some of those favourite places. I hope we get some good Paua conditions up this way again. They grow much bigger and faster in the cold water as well. It was nice to see the kids out trying the tent camping, and Riley doing some footage.

Hey Garth, yes, it's nice to revisit some good spots for sure, a true sign that anyone who follows the channel should visit the area if we've been x2... Kids are totally into the tenting scene right now...

no I think it has an age restriction on that, we saw it when we were here in march earlier in the year... We are happy ro enjoy the natural aspects of the area, maybe once the kids have grown up and left, we'll check out more of these options.

My parents (over 60 years ago!) use to take me and my three siblings on camping trips using an old 9 x 9 tent and later in a borrowed home built caravan that was an utterly weird shape. I often think of those holidays and my parents struggling with inadequate equipment and we four kids lying on a mattress in the back of a 1954 Austin A70 countryman as we travelled all over Otago and Southland.
@leopardsgowild3 ай бұрын
wow those would have been the days aye... Camping was about all most people could afford to do. Otago and Southland must have changed so much since the 60's

Oh hey there, yes I use a Gopro hero 10, my last one died early this year which meant we needed to upgrade... The gopro is the only camera we have other than the drone, so it's all a very simple production...

Toby was adorable cooking those cockles. Loved watching the crabs eat the scraps, they looked like real characters. You’re lucky to have a navigator to find your spots, we always drive around in circles, neither of us wanting to make a decision! And those underwater shots were so vibrant. Did you have a filter on your GoPro?
@leopardsgowild11 ай бұрын
toby is the funniest kid I've ever met, he's always up for fun and adventure. He totally took over the cockle mission, and did it all except the actually fritters. I have no filters, all of my footage is always as it is, i don't enhance anything, other than the southern lights which need a bit of enhancement.

@user-hk2vp7il4o it's criminal I don't think our seafood should be for overseas market... you want to send it overseas then they should farm it not take it out of our water and then blame the recreational fishers and divers or restrict them so heavily
