For those who bought the G29 and now have issues with the left or right paddle shift such as double shifting or sometimes it doesn't respond (which is a common issue with this model) my solution to this problem was to open the steering wheel, and locate the three pins of the paddle shift microswitches, once located use a soldering iron and heat the solder just a little until it becomes liquid and repeat the process for all three pins, that solved my problem and so far so good

G920 arrived, it was such a wonderful experience for receiving, unboxing, installing and finally driving. I've opened ATS and did a quick configuration, and was there! A sweet Logitech working perfectly with the Force Feedback which definitelly bough realism for me. Again really appreciate you OC Racing, you definitilly helped me for choosing G920. I got the g920 without the shifter at Best Buy for $199 brand new a year ago. Still worth it today. FFB calibration is the most important thing for the racing games you play to get the best realistic feel.

my 2 cents on the topic is this; i used my for 18 months, my main category is drift, so its mandatory to set FFB pretty high to have the counter steer to happen in time, that alone is the main reason for mine to develop the famous center wobble, that being when you let your hand out of the wheel it will not stay centered (when the car is moving straight forward), the wheel shakes one side to another even with the car moving straight, it only stops if you keep holding the wheel all the time. this happens due spacing between internal gears, its natural wear, but in my case was sooner than later because of extreme FFB settings, however its important to say that by any means the G920 lost precision, still able to race or drift like normal. to conclude, if you really into sim racing or sim drifting for the long run i most definitively recommend to start with G29(920/923), its priceless to get accustomed with a low end gear before laying your hand on something more advanced, it will give you a better sense of comparison once youre able to upgrade. few weeks ago i bought a T300RS, and its literally twice as good (not only strong but immersive) as a G920, and that made me realize that starting on the logitech was the best choice.

Yeah that was my thought as well. If you like the wheel and it does right by you then who cares. VR would help a lot, I will say if you are getting PS5 unless you are getting the new VR headset for it I would just go with PC. Even a lower spec’ed computer would be better due to game choice.

I mean you can still take sim racing seriously with this wheel. In GT Sport, I'm currently a high A rated driver in sport mode and despite taking time to understand how this wheel works, ITS DEFINITELY COMPETITIVE (its just not as fancy as a fanatec but it still is worth it in my opinion compared to the new g923 which I also find very nice)

Yeah exactly. It’s definitely possible with practice. The force feedback isn’t the best but it works and if you play PC you can tune it and set .LUT files to fix any issues. I find Thrustmaster wheel and pedal combos below 450 hard to obtain especially in Canada which kinda sucks. My biggest disappointment with this wheel has honestly been build quality. The wheel physically wobbles on the z-axis because the plastic housing inside the actual box area has cracked. They used too much plastic.

Honestly I think it looks very nice and definitely looks more techy especially with the digital stuff that you can see on the t248. However, I would still see this as just a good wheel bc I know there’s better ones out there and I don’t think you need ALL OF THAT COOL MULTIFUNCTIONAL STUFF on the wheel but I would definitely not be against by the wheel since I can tell that thurstmaster put in a good amount of work into it 👍🏻!

This wheel (and all it's variants) will always be worth it. It's a cheap way to get into sim racing, and while not being the best, they are still plenty good enough. Plus they're built to last. You will almost ALWAYS get your money's worth out of a Logitech wheel. Mine's still going strong after 5+ years. Although I have had the pots on my pedals go out twice now, so I eventually upgraded to some Fanatec load cell pedals. No more worrying about pots.

I just bought a g920 yesterday and after messing around with the settings to get the force feedback where I want it (and making an adjustment to my desk so the wheel clamp better) I think it's pretty solid. This is my first wheel/pedals and the only complaint I have really is that the brake pedal is quite stiff. I use it to play F1 2020 and I'm enjoying it so far

You have to open up the casing for the pedals and take the brake apart, & there’s a rubber block inside the spring. So take that out, put the pedals back together, & your good

I have the new logitech g923 with trueforce and was super lucky to get it at the $280 price point and i couldnt be happier. My very first wheel after wanting one for years! I tried my buddies thrustmaster t300 and that was a even better wheel IMO, but due to finances i couldnt afford the $400 price tag. About the braking. I saw an Amazon review that said there’s a rubber stopper keeping you from pressing the brake down fast. If you remove it the braking becomes 1000x better. Although it will void warranty

why not change the deadzone so that when you hit the rubber stopper its already at 100%? I put mine at 90% so the rubber stopper is 90%, and pressing hard onto the stopper is 100% full emergency braking.

@@Luis-ic3bm I'm glad I got the Thrustmaster this time. It's quiet and stronger with a better peddle set and shifter. I've had it for 3 days now and I am very happy with it. The clamping mechanism is way better as well. My last wheel was a Logitech and the clamping was poor at best.

I just don't see the hate for the brake pedal, the rubber is not too hard, especially after some getting used to it, and when the pedal gets to the rubber the input is encoded as exponential, making the travel around the rubber a lot more important than the pre travel, this simulates the behaviour of real cars/load cells, and I know it's not as good but it's much better than a linear pedal and much cheaper than a load cell. Just perfect for the price imo That being said, the potentiometers are complete crap, all 3 of mine failed within a year

If you can get it for around $200, I say its worth it. Otherwise, save up a few more bucks and go Thrustmaster. I got my G29 on sale for $199 a few months before the pandemic quarantines started and it was perfect for me. I sold it to a buddy for $50 when i bought my CSL Elite.

as some one who never even cared about racing or anything, I had a friend gift me a g29 with pedals and shifter when he upgraded to fanatech, I spent 110 on a cheap rig on ebay and i've been loving it, learning more about rally and GT style racing. Compared to his fanatech, yea it's a difference and if I keep at it like this.. maybe next year i'll upgrade to a fanatech but i'm in no rush. I bought a cheap ebay handbrake and have been enjoying it as well.

If you have a problem with the g920 not centering correctly just turn your sensitivity back down to original and it will be fixed. And you can make the brake pedal less stiff by removing the spring behind it and taking out the piece of rubber but put it back correctly because it will work if you put it back but the spring might rub with the casing of the spring which is very annoying sometimes but it only makes a sound and a feeling it dosent impact how it functions like the rubber does.

I am a young adult who is saving up to get a better wheel, the T80 is starting to be a bit of an issue, as the bungee cord just broke, I am hoping that the g29 is more rigid and will last more than 6 months.

I use the thrustmaster t80, and I just purchased this wheel. From reviews it seems to last a couple of years and miles more rigid than the t80. I cant say from experience since the wheel is coming in a few days! If I remember I will let you know on how it is on the build quality compared to the t80. But comparing the t80 to the g29 in videos and construction, yes, a big yes, the g29 is way more well built and rigid 😀

it should be worth noting that this goes on sale from time to time for significantly less. is the high end thrustmaster $600 wheel better? yes, a little, if your playing competitive/ranked but not $400+ better, since this set goes on sale all the way down to $200-300 with shifter (without is cheaper around the $200 or less think a comment somewhere got it on sale for $175 on a video). the value increase for that level of importance is much better spent on a cpu, gpu, or monitor upgrade to get that edge in gaming. especially if you already own it XD.

@@SIMRIG412 you took that wayyy too personally lol. He was comparing the Logitech to his previous wheel (given the comparison, probably some cheap bungee cord based thing). That being said, the G29/920 is a perfectly fine wheel for entry level sim racing. And aside from maybe a load cell brake pedal, the hard truth is more expensive gear doesn't make you faster.

There are many aliens who use the G29 in iRacing. Claiming that it's only good for simcades isn't true, however, the majority of the really fast drivers who use the G29 use higher quality pedals.
