One of the games that the Mets lost to the Braves that last series in 2022 they lost by 1 run...the Braves had a speedy guy on first base and a Braves batter hit a sharp single directly to Brandon Nimmo in shallow centerfield and the runner scored...ALL THE WAY FROM 1ST BASE..I will never forget that terrible throw.. never

I was born in 86 so I don't get to remember that world series run but it made me a Mets fan because I grew up with all the neighborhood being Mets fans and it sucked me so all I've ever known were those epic collapses like 08, 10, Beltran Striking Out, 2016 World Series, 22... It's always the same way we end up losing and it's heartbreaking fashion... The worst part is it seems like we watch the rest of our division dominate their way to pennants

These two games could be a complete non factor. There are two spots available to 3 teams and the Diamondbacks are choking in ways that rival the 2007 Mets. Mets are 0.5 ahead of the Dbacks but own the tiebreaker, so effectively 1.5 with them having 4 games to go. If the dbacks lose their next 2 games they’ll be 2.5 back out with 2 to play. The Mets can clinch before they play their next game. And if they do the Mets should lose the doubleheader on purpose. The 3rd wild card is Brewers-Phillies as opposed to Padres-Dodgers. I sure as hell know which I’d rather see.

In his argument about 2022. Evan is forgetting that the signs were there for the collapse. They got swept by two of the worst teams in baseball right before that. the pirates and I believe the cubs. Could be wrong. But this feels different because this team is on an absolute tear. The 2022 team was mid collapse heading into that series
