We're not in such a state we should be selling everyone but we need to build an OL and D depth. But Grier wont build an OL regardless so doesnt matter till hes gone either way.

I would keep Achane and Waddle being they are young pieces and solid players for the most part (Especially Achane). Mostert can be replaced by Wright IMO if he goes and maybe a few others but for the most part I agree with you on the depth and possibly trading Hill in the process. They can always draft a WR with the capital they get in the 2nd or 3rd round. OL and D depth are obviously the issue here.

Nobody remembers all the times the kicker makes the kick anyway, just the rare times they miss and everyone thinks 'oooh, he iced him!' Its statistical mumbo jumbo. As I say, coaches only do it because it makes them _feel_ less powerless.

The #1 asset the Fins have to sell is Hill but the pick we would receive would be in the mid to late 20s so the value is just not that great for a game changing player and no one is selling the farm to get him so its really not worth it. Just like the Titans loss last season the Cardinals loss looms large ! Not in the way it did last season but with our next 4 games having 3 wins instead of 2 would at least leave a glimmer of hope. I think we are stuck in purgatory this season and should probably just ride it out and hope Tua stays healthy and focus on Oline , Dline , and back up Qb next season.

The core of any good football team lies in the trenches. The core of this roster is hollow. Zach Sieler is a good player. He is not dominant or a game changer. He’s a good piece, but without another solid player to play beside on the line, he is not going to be able to win double teams and disrupt the play behind the LoS. Our only 2 LBs worth anything have missed like half of their career being hurt. In the Oline is even worse off. This is Armstead last year. There is no one playing next to him that’s shown enough or even glimpses of being able to be a future anchor. We drafted a project in Paul. What we do have is a lot of top heavy fancy shells around that hollow core. Shiny trade lures that we can use to appear to be sellers but really be buying. Sending any of our DBs,RBs or WRs in a package that lands us draft capital and OLine/DEs would satisfy me. We are committed to Tua for awhile. If we can’t keep him upright it doesn’t matter how many millions we pay his receivers. The OLine has been ignored for over a decade and the roster rot is has caused up to this point is what I have been worried about and saying ever since Martin got bullied out of Miami.

They’d have to be 7-2 moving forward AT WORST. 3 division games. Theres no shot unless they get a productive pass rusher and they’re at a premium right now. With the way their cap is right now they’d be setting themselves up for even more failure if they use picks to trade this season. Only chance they have moving forward is hitting on 2/3 picks in the first three rounds on defense bc they have sooo much money tied up in the offense. They have no choice but to hit on the draft for the next 2 years while the cap catches up.

That is the problem, if we play like we did yesterday. We played a pretty flawless game. The team was focused because it was the season and a redemption game. To say they will consistently repeat that and that the defense will ever get any better is questionable. The cost of having to surround tua with so much talent to be good has depleted the defense into one of the worst in the league. Don't say it's injuries. They very well could have lost to the jags at home when most were healthy.

@butternuts14 ??? Not at this point. Mia knew yesterday was the season. They played nearly flawless. Tua was on. Not many penalties, no drops, etc. Until they show that they can play at that level the next games, we won't be in the playoffs. The cost of tua and the offense has depleted the defense badly. Injuries have only made it worse. We are going to have to outscore teams and looking at how good mia played and only put up 27 and lost in a game they had to have, and the bills didn't, it is very questionable at this time. We don't pass rush or cover well, and we haven't all season. That is a bad combination. I don't see that changing much. Mia also has been struggling to get turnovers. Great play by Ramsey, but that was a TD on his int. At what point do players lose intensity, and vets pack it in for the year? Next week becomes a must win to me. Not for the record, but to keep the players from checking out for the season. A win will change the vibe and miami should win some games after that. If they lose, it will be ugly the rest of the season.

"It is what it is"? I tell you what it is Mr. Poyer...it's the worst play of the year. Ray Charles could have made that call. You put your helmet under the guy's chin while he is defenseless in the air. That foul gets called 10 out of 10 times. That is how you snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This defense is bad. Terrible tackling and untimely penalties. And most defenses play either pressure the passer, or coverage...we do neither. On a lighter note, I watched the game with my 15 yr old daughter, who is not a frequent viewer. As she watched the Buffalo receivers running free, she commented that it looked like the defenders were still following COVID protocol with 6' social distancing.

You do all realize that if by chance that the Phins make the playoffs, they would likely have to play two out of three teams on the road just to make it to the Championship game - Buffalo, Baltimore and KC as they would have to play both the number 1 and number 2 seeds, both in cold climates. Someone please take the phone away from Grier unless he's trading assets or holding onto them and feeding us the line of "let's try again next year". But spending assets for players is the last thing we should be doing this year.
