Are the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All Season Tires Any Good?

I put these on my base 09 C6. They will not break loose at all! Old tires broke loose in so easy. So sticky. I had no idea tires made such a difference.

I have an 2015 Audi A4 S-Line Quattro. When I got it 2 years ago, it had some Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Given the way they were handling, the wear they had when I got the car, I was happily surprised they lasted me 2 full summers. I went for these A/S 4 as a replacement, just got em today. I believe they're the best of both world in terms of grip, durability and versatility/dependability. They're premium tires in terms of price compared to other brands, but performance and safety has no price.

Thought about getting some of these tires for my C5. But I could only find 275-18’s as the widest for the rear on Tire Rack. Since my wheels are 1 inch wider than stock, I wanted a 295-18 for the rear; so I went with Continental Extreme Contact tires, and they’ve really done very well!

I've got these ordered for my 2016 RT. Was wondering how much noise they generate. The BFGs I have now have a growl up to 45 mph, and I'm sick of it. I'm hoping to have a quiet set this time.

I currently have the AS3+ on my boosted Mustang and they do very well. I think the performance difference between the AS3 and PS4S is marginal and I can still drive the Mustang in the cold without worry. I have a set of AS4 on the way for my C7. If they are anything like the AS3+ I’ll be happy.

Aside from a few hot laps in the middle of summer around VIR, I have not found anything these tires aren't perfect for yet. Literally any condition, they are the right tool for the job.

Have these tires on our '15 Volvo V60 Cross Country and I really appreciate their firm connected feel with the road. They provide very confident steering response and are not a harsh ride but you are connected to the road...optimal combination in my opinion. We have about 10k miles on them and wear is minimal and noise level is nothing objectionable. Am considering the same tire for my MINI Roadster S and will likley be a preferred replaced from the Michelin Pilot SS on our '19 BMW 230i xDrive in my Midwest driving conditions.

After watching this video (and some others) I decided to grab a set of these. I wanted a true 3 season time for my rear drive Jaguar F-Type. I bought it with Yokohama Advan Sport + mounted. The Yoks were pretty sweet in the summer but were not designed for fall and colder and NOT great in the wet. The AS4s have been "as advertised" from the hot summer to the cold fall weather here in Northern Virginia. They also did GREAT during a drive home from the Eastern Shore of MD in a monsoon including a very confident stretch over the Bay Bridge. Great review and I highly recommend them!

My road testing got me about 0.73G with pirelli p zero Nero when cold before slipping. The PS AS4 have gotten me up to 0.89 already cold and I haven’t found the limit yet

I bought a Jaguar F-type rear wheel drive that came on Yokohama Advan Sport a/s and they run pretty well dry, but they are a handful in the wet. Really quite bad in the wet honestly. They also burn off fairly quick. My tires are staggered size so I really need longer tread wear since I can't rotate them. I run Michelin Premier a/s on my Accord Coupe and I love them so I did some research on high performance Michelin and these tires keep rising to the top ( or near the top) in testing. I ordered a set that will be installed 8/8/23. I'll edit this towards the end of November 2023 with my notes on how these tire perform for me. I drive this car spirited to hard so I understand the mileage won't be outstanding, but I'm more looking for great wet/dry traction decent mileage. Living in Northern Virginia I get four true seasons and I need an a/s tire so I really appreciate your review! Great video, thank you, it pushed me off the fence to place my order for the a/s 4's.

Same! A year and a half, and about 25k miles later on my supra I had to replace them, I went with ordering another set of the same for use in Maryland. While I kept summer Pilot sport tires up front.

@ericfan1223 2 rain storms later (one was REDICULOUSLY heavy rain) and I can say that these tires are great in the rain so far. Granted they are pretty much brand new, but so far so good!

Good review, I'm getting ready to replace the tires on my 2008 C6 Corvette. Are these non-run flats? How is the ride quality and noise level?

Overall I can say that I'm very impressed with the tires. That said, it's difficult for me to say how the ride quality of the run flats is versus non-run flats because I went with lower profile tires at the same time. The ride is not as smooth as the previous wheel and tire sets, but nowhere close to uncomfortable. I have not noticed any excessive noise, but I also run long tube headers, no Cats, and small Borla mufflers... Hope that helps!

Depends on the brand, each will have their own recommendations for wheel width. That said, that should be close enough in size that you shouldn't have a problem

As far as I'm concerned it's the best practical tire you can buy. I have a set on my 01' Celica GT-S and the summer tires on my 88' Supra. You aren't going to get better without shelling tons of money into it, and I see no reason to do so.

Have only really used them on gravel, fire roads and similar with the Audi Q3, they seemed confident but haven't really done any spirited driving on them, they're not marketed as off-road tires

I am going to take delivery of a GR Corolla soon and want to swap the Pilot sport summer to the A/S. BTW -saw your MultiStada in the garage - I owned a couple BMW GS's. To replace the GS I got an FJ-09 - such a great motor - such a fun 1-up sport touring bike. I did consider the MS but the FJ won out. Cheers.

I had an FJ09 along with my previous 2015 Multistrada. The FJ was awesome for the price, but did not have nearly the soul of the Multi. The new V4 is even more impressive, but the FJ09 (Tracer) remains a compelling value

I put these on an 011 Camaro SS. The Pirelli zeros that I had far outperformed these tires. I only drive my car in the spring summer and fall. Should have got Pirellis or equivalent

Well, if you trade a straight summer high performance for an all season, you're going to give up just a little on the track. You make up for it with all temperature and weather traction. For road use, these are amazing. Definitely worth changing to the p4s or cup 2 for aggressive summer/ track use

In other words is it worth the swapping out, and will the change be very noticeable? Cornering at higher speeds is what impressed me about the Pirellis, not so with the Michelin 4S

What kind of driving do you do? I would venture to say the benefits of the Cup 2 tires would only be realized on the race track. The 4S is the most aggressive street tire I would run for a daily driver on the public roads that also may see a track day or two, and the 4AS is best for road only.

I have the A S tires on now, and they feel a bit squishy on the highway with a more aggressive driving. But they sure soften up the ride and make for a comfortable driving experience

I had to deal with the availability at the time, resulting in my rears being run flats, with conventional fronts. Probably a fair compromise, as drive wheels are far more likely to be punctured by road debris.
