From the get go of RotB releasing, I honestly had trouble telling Apelinq apart from Primal, so him being a partial makes sense. That being said, I agree that perhaps a few more new parts could've helped a lot here

The only reason I got this Apelinq was because I didn't get ROTB Primal previously but wanted the mold, and wanted an Apelinq figure in my collection. Though he suffices, I wish he came with a hoverboard, lol

I prefer the way Yolopark made Apelinq more distinct but badass at the same time. Not saying that Hasbro's version is bad, but it is something worth noticing.

Just picked this guy up for my birthday yesterday and I don’t have primal so worth it and I like how he is built to be accurate poseable and well engineered instead of being a leader that just comes with a bunch of accessories

I wonder if there is a Sentinel Primal, I imagine he's rocking a long tread wizard beard and there are ramhorns on his head, and looks more wise and elderly like an orangutan than a gorilla. Probably more inspired by Alpha Trion like how Sentinel was in Dotm. But then again this is movie prequel budget we are talking about so the closest they had was painting Primal a different silver, orange eyes and call it a day but probably because his only character arc was exist and die immediatly :P

Apelinq and Primal were more or less the same size in the movie. Obviously Apelinq is much bulkier, but the only reason he seems to rise taller than Primal in that one shot is because he was standing straight while Primal was still crouching. Wouldn’t shock me if Apelinq was maybe a foot or half a foot taller, but that’s hardly a difference. Especially since he seemed to be the same height as Scourge in beast mode, a trait he would share with Primal’s beast mode. The real issue with these two, is that neither of their beast modes scale with SS Scourge. Primal’s bot mode is ~18 feet tall officially, while his ape form is 19 feet tall officially when bipedal, meaning the toy can’t replicate the mass shifted beast mode’s size. Same goes for Apelinq (who lacks an official size but is presumably similar to Primal). Normally I prioritize bot mode scale, but their beast modes made up 99% of their screen time so it feels weird….

Honestly, I'm glad just to see this thing on your camera. The stock photos really don't do it any favours. That being said, while it does look a lot nicer in this video, I don't think I'll be getting this, since I already have Primal. Besides, I've already spent quite a lot on other figures last year and need to save up for Age of the Primes and all that.

I didn't get Primal, so Apelinq was a nice treat for me. I had to do some custom paint on him though. He's just too clean. I did some weathering to make him look a bit closer to the Yolopark figure.

The "first stage" transwarp key Apelinq comes with is fine but Baiwei Scourge comes with a WAY more faithful version of the transwarp key in that intro scene and because it's slimmer it should be able to fit in his mouth.

I already had the mainline primal and I was very happy with it so I could'nt justify buying the ss one. I thought he was cool but I like the mainline more because he's way more simple and less expensive. So the Apelinq would be great for me because he's different enough and he's bigger than the mainline

Could have spared the materials for the chains (although the twin chained scythes are cool) and give us bigger blades and shoulderpad. I got the DNA Design kit for the Takara Primal, and THAT is a good Apelinq.

I've had the figure for a couple months now and I like it, but I had to completely repaint it and do some other custom work first. I'd say that if you primarily use the beast mode then it's worth it but if you plan to keep him in robot mode, then that mode is not very exciting, mostly cause the deco sucks.

I personally like primal better. I did get both as I'm a beast Wars fan, but it seems this reuse did, as you mentioned, suffered from mold degradation. Loose connections and joints. It's still a great design but not perfect.
