BRR testing on these just came out and they may be the new performance all rounder king. Gives up half a watt per tire to the S TR, but had way better grip and puncture score

Questions for the Pirellis: - How are they to mount? - their pressure guidelines seem higher than avg, formy weight they rec 90 PSI (which would be above my wheel's guidance). What is up there? - Obvious: Ride feel, specifically cornering. - w/ Silca sealant I think puncture protection is almost a thing of the past, but if you got thoughts here by all means. - Longevity: where Pirelli has ALWAYS missed the mark w/ me. I might 3-4k miles on GPs, rarely do I get more than 1-1.5k out of pirellis.

Same, when it comes to race tires, I was burning through PZeros compared to the GP5000. With that said the cinturato is the best daily training tire that I’ve ever used.

1) Extremely tight bead. Mounting requires levers, seating is easily done with a floor pump. 2) Use online tire pressure calculators (SRAM AXS or Silca.) 3) Ride feel is great, among the best of any vulcanized tire. ENVE/Tufo and Goodyear are also good in this regard. 4) Orange Seal over Silca Ultimate. 5) I get 4800mi from 28mm GP5K S TRs. Hardly anyone has used up a set of P Zero Race TLR RS. The regular versions last me about 3000mi.

Pirelli tires' widths are all over the place... :/ Race TLR 28mm measures 26.5mm on mine 19mm rims ! Road (non-tlr) measures 29mm !!! and I heard that Race RS TLR are in a middle (~28mm?).

Probably depends on the wheel width- I’ll double check mine!

@@outdoorbros_ 28mm tires (P Zero Road, GP 5000) bead to bead width measure around 74mm (unmounted tire, could be folded like in a box), Race TLR measures only 70mm !!!

For the first 800 miles, sure. But that’s an expensive 800 miles.

When GP5000 s came out, they took out a layer on the base to reduce weight. But that decreased puncture protection. The new vittoria corsa pro were sick. Definitely the fastest tire I've raced but they only lasted about 600 miles before splitting. Pirelli p zero I can get a year out of riding, even took on some gravel roads. Feels fastest than GP5000. Vittoria was faster though but I love the puncture protection of the Pirelli for me. Its all personal for tires though and everyone has different road conditions. Sucks they didn't do gum wall for these so I'll be passing. And if they took a layer out I lose confidence in puncture protection. But we will see how others do, still love my Pirelli p zero race tlr classic.

Dethroning GP5000 is no easy task (impossible?), however, I won't cut Pirelli short. In motorcycle sport touring they make the Angel GT tire, long known for exceptional handling, grip, and longevity. Pirelli has the know-how to make a great tire, but c'mon, we're talking about GP5000. It's not just the rolling resistance, these are the most puncture resistant tire on the market.
