Montreal is a popular team, a big fan base and an immortal reputation. In order to reduce the amount bet on them the bookies reduce the payout. Ottawa on the other hand is a very local fanbase in comparison.

If Marner stays with the Leafs and none of the Core 4 is hurt for a significant time, the Leafs are good for 100+ points. I think there is a good chance they will win the Eastern Conference. This is a very good regular season team. Puck possession makes for good looking GA stats.

I think your predictions are good. I'll note that I think NJ is overrated. I see them as a young team that over-achieved a couple of years ago, while everyone else seems to think that that huge jump out of the NHL's basement was for real. I think they were a rebuilding team that will slowly climb in the standing over the next few years. New York: Truba is a liability, Zebinejad is getting older, but they have a great goalie. Hot goalies can sometimes make a minor league team into a contender. The Leafs can go either way. It depends on their goalies. All three. If Murray tears it up with the Marlies, he could be playing come playoffs if Woll or Stolarz struggle for any reason. I feel confident that one of the three will be solid. Boston: Marchand is now 38 years old, I believe. I see Boston FINALLY taking a step back, as they did last year, if you eliminate the hot steak they had to start last season. But again, they have a great goalie, so...
