I bought the Eleacc per your recommendation but got it through AliExpress much cheaper than the other brands. £27! When first setting it up it failed to connect to Bluetooth a couple of times and then it worked. Slight delay with audio but for music and podcasts that’s fine. Watching a KZbin video while sitting in the car using the speakers isn’t great due to the delay but technically you’re not supposed to do it. lol I stopped at a shop to get a couple of things and when I switched the car back on it had connected before I even blinked. I’m using a Kenwood aftermarket unit which I think helps. Sometimes the factory units in cars software can be buggy and slow. Thanks for the recommendation for this unit. Really happy with it so far.

I have one of those adapters. I won't say the brand, but it works maybe 75% of the time. Sometimes it just wont connect. The wifi connects fine, but the bluetooth just won't connect. I have to physically unplug the adapter and plug it in again for it to work, and sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries. Sometimes when I hit a pretty big bump, carplay disconnects. I think it has to do with the physical USB connection not being secure enough. And the sound coming out from bluetooth is terrible. I'm on the same boat as you were before, content. I use carplay a lot just to get update on traffic, so it's very important to me. In my other car, an older Japanese car, I replaced the head unit with an aftermarket Pioneer one, and carplay works perfectly. Never once did it lose connection, even when using carplay wirelessly. The sound is great even on bluetooth. In conclusion, if you have the ability to replace the whole head unit, do it. Cars like porsche, BMW, or Mercedes have integrated head unit, which makes it impossible to replace.

I wanted to wait until the iPhone 6 came out because I thought it would have good artificial intelligence features, but now I'm thinking about just spending 70 bucks or so on an adapter and waiting another year for the iPhone 17. That way Apple will have a year to iron out plenty of kinks with the iPhone 16 and the artificial intelligence stuff that they are rolling out in 2024 and 2025, and for about $50-$70 I'll be able to get back the CarPlay functionality that I sorely missed in the meantime.

Some of the CarPlay dongles are just buggy. Sometimes you need to unplug and replug the device multiple times for it to work. Otherwise there’s a black or blank screen on the stereo unit. It’s a real PITA... not very reliable. I find that the Carlinkit series seems to work well in terms of connecting all the time, but the issue I have with Carlinkit is that the seek fwd/bkwd controls don’t work in my particular car. So if I want to go back or forward a few seconds in a song, I can’t do so with the Carlinkit. Also, the 5.8 or 5 or 2.4 GHz band discussion about range is not really relevant here given that the iPhone and the adapter are within feet/inches of each other. So the received signal strength (RSSI) will be extemely good, no matter which band is used. The signal strength discussion becomes more relevant when you’re getting further away from the radio, with obstructions such as walls or floors in between.
@TheAppleHelpline8 ай бұрын

These devices rely on establishing a solid wifi connection between the phone and the device to transmit all that data. Bluetooth alone just doesn't have the bandwidth required (even bluetooth 5.2). If you have a lot of wifi points in your area, this establishing of a wifi connection can be sketchy. Make sure the device you buy has the latest Wifi protocol. The more frequencies and bands it can do the better. Preferrably one with Wifi 6 or 6e (802.11ax) but I had issues finding one that could do Wifi 6. I bought the Anyfar B4 for android auto only which says 2.4 GHz/5.8 GHz wireless AC / N. They have others than can do Apple Carplay as well (Anyfar A4, A4Pro, or A6).

I learned a lot about what I'm missing by not having a carplay capable vehicle, but I figure as long as I can hands free navigation on my iPhone my basic needs are met.

Does your car have to already have wired apple car play in it to use the latest 3 devices that you tested

Have this issue with wire CarPlay myself. Except it never works. None of the trouble shooting resolved it.

I'm at the point where you were. I'm just living with it for the sake of having it be wireless. Aside from that they aren't grate. They disconnect from time to time. The sound is distorted at times. Other times I have to unplug and plug it in again to restart again. All in all for now it still beats having to plug in each time I get in the car.

Loved your video. I have the one you showed at 12:43 and it works pretty well, most of the time. My biggest gripe is that it stays connected even when I am out of the car and back inside my house. It can be extremely annoying.

Do you know if any of these units will allow you to connect to a mobile hotspot (via another iPhone) while also utilizing wireless car play? Great video, first time watcher here and stumbled across your video. Just subscribed as well

I have not tried that… if another phone is providing the internet the phone running CarPlay won’t be affected so it should Work

I bought one of those for my 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage it didn’t work. My car doesn’t have the plug-in right in the dash it has a wire that came out of the glove box that I have to plug the phone wire into and then into my phone to get Apple play, this wireless thing I connected it to that work my Mitsubishi kept hooking up to my phone. Do I have to disconnect my car from my phone?😊

I don’t use wireless Carplay in my Honda Insight I seldom charge my Iphone any time other than in my car, so I use the wired connection. In my older Insight it was very touchy. My 2022 Insight connects reliably, as long as my Iphone is unlocked and on when I start the car.

I think your on to something about the GHz. I have a carlinkit 3.0 that disconnects all the time from my 21 Tundra and it’s 2.5GHZ. The Autosky I bought on Amazon that I like as it’s not a wired dongle. It’s just a USB drive that is bothe 2.5/5GHz and it works really well. Thank you.

I’m confused. Do these devices work if my car doesn’t have CarPlay at all? I own a 2017 Hyundai Azera, AKA Grandeur, It has a USB port that accesses the Music app. Will this device provide YT, Netflix, Spotify etc?
@davidgulbransen68016 ай бұрын
No, they are simply wireless bridges (for lack of a better term) for vehicles that already support CarPlay. These do not add CarPlay functionality to cars that do not have it.

@antivirusapartment75176 ай бұрын
@@TheAppleHelpline Carlinkit allows you to select the user before going into carplay screen. It should work for most people but switching users is not smooth sometimes. I think nobody has been able to solve that problem as of now.
