CORRECTION: So Sym.gg just updated, and it looks like for the burst MX, that range at 5 meters should be at 699ms. You can get 489 but you have to hit a headshot, which is likely what happened with me because of the guns kick. 😅

They need to buff the fire rate of the brysons, make the lokwood 2 shot consistent and buff so much the range and recoil of the expedite to make them usable without dragons breath and make them usable overall on ranked.

The lockwood/725 needs a major buff. It only has a 2 shot round with the slowest reload time.

Shotguns need to work like they do in real life. Pellet spread doesn't start until about 20 feet out the barrel and the lead balls do not disappear into oblivion.

The MX Guardian wasn't Overpowered and didn't deserved a nerf this huge. Now we are back to ground zero of Warzone 1 where the shotguns are useless outside of 10m and that's not even because they were Overpowered ( the Broadside maybe but still)

It should not be. The expedite is the harder option to use and it should be more powerful. If anything, the fact that this was nor the case this whole time is an example of how bad warzpne balancing often is.

I think that they should have shell customization: Pellet size: the smaller the pellets the more you have, but less damage. bigger = higher dmg less pellets. shell length: obviously the smaller the shell the less you can put in BUT on the tube fed, they can store more and and carry more reserve and allow faster reloading. longer shells allow for more pellets and powder. but have less reserve campacity ect. powder: now higher powder = more velocity dmg and range, but higher recoil, and less powder does the opposite. now, with shell customization you can really tune them to be how you want, but this only goes for buckshot, not DB and slugs get length and powder options.

Unfortunately I think the only real way to deal with the broadside was to nerf it into oblivion. Even though the TTK wasn’t actually super fast, people spraying dragons breath at you makes it so hard to see, and reducing the visual affect likely would have been a much more difficult change to implement.

I stopped using the dashbolt on my DB Broadside, instead trying to utilize the burning as part of the overall damage output while using ammo at a slower rate. I also feel my shots are more on target when it doesn't kick around so hectically.

ran the kv yesterday with dragons breath and it still feels solid for Vondel. ofc its worse than it was before, but with the 25 mag and some solid movement on ur end u can def win almost every gunfight up to like 10 meters or so. just try jumping a lot and even dropshot with it bc its gonna be rly hard for them to hit u especially since dragons breath blinds ppl quite a lot

Update: The MX guardian is now possible to obtain as F2P in WZ2(NOT MW2). You have to play resurgence solo (just got added today), get a shotgun and find someone that has no plates but at full hp, give them a point blank headshot and boom, a one shot kill. This is very much a luck based encounter so here is method 2 that I used tonight and finish the challenge(I don’t have MW2) 1. Get a friend and hit match on resurgence solo. 2. Make sure you joined each other match. 3. Get a shotgun(preferably a Bryson) 4. Your friend have to down themselves (you cannot hurt them) and use the self res (I recommend Semtex spam) 5. Let your friend heal 6. Kill them in one shot 7. Gather with your friend and give them a Semtex 8. They have to blow themselves up to destroy the 2 armor plate BUT DO NOT DIE 9. Let them heal and let resurgence timer hit 0 10. Shoot them with shotgun 11. Repeat 7-10

Both are amazing shotgun. Just minus the fire bolt and replaced with a good aim stability buttstock. It not about the shotgun being broken. It about the map, how and when to use it. I scared players who used shotgun in Vondel than Al Mazrah.

I dont like this way of balancing. I hate it when a game has stuff that is bad when you crunch the numbers, but annoying to fight against. If they just adjusted the dragon's breath visuals on the broadside and added the 725 damage mechanic and left the guardian alone it would have adressed the problem and kept these guns strong, but less annoying. If anything, enabling headshots on smgs again was already a noticable indirect nerf to shotguns

Like you said ttk isn't everything. SMGs have basically the same ttk 5-10 meters but thing is, you have to actually land those shots which isn't happening for the average player in close quarters against a target that simultaneously spinning, strafing, jumping then bellyflopping all in span of 1 sec. For the bad players even the full auto Guardian might be the best choice. The only real problem with all these shotguns is they stop working beyond 10m.

I tried every setup with slugs, and its not helpful at all. The one shot potential (not including headshot) is very small and after that its a two shot to beat someone. Multiplayer minor help( but not very effective) but in warzone its terrible( trash).

While it does have an upside to it's magazine size and the fire rate options, the downsides are still there with that big nerf it received and if someone was to run DB or explosive slugs, those rounds can be countered and your screwed if they use that counter in their class set-up. I'm not saying they're terrible for other shotguns, but it's just going to be outperformed by the standard ammo type after the nerf the mx guardian received.
