It's a cool and innovative product, but I think the $140 price tag for what is essentially some LEDs and pedals is off putting for all but the most invested riders. Especially when there are much cheaper options that will do everything this does and more. However, it probably trumps most products visibility-wise.

For sure $140 can be a bit out of reach or hard to justify for many people. Year after year, bike after bike, we are always willing to spend a bit more on the details for our personal bikes. Are these pedals right for everyone? Probably not, but like you said perhaps for those invested riders.

Not legal for night riding in the UK.

Oh that's very interesting. Would you mind sharing more about that?

@@ElectricBikeJournal My replies keep disappearing - I must have replied about four or five times now! I'm wondering if it's because I'm putting links in? Last time I copied and screen-shot it. I'll try again without links: "Don't know why but I've replied to you three times already but when I go back, my reply isn't showing. For riding in the dark in the UK, pedals must have approved amber reflectors both rear and forward facing (so four in total). In the event of a collision, not complying with the legal requirement could leave you open to litigation or prosecution. Here are a couple of links to basic guides to UK law for bicycle lighting - there's a lot of legislation behind it: (Link to CyclingUK and UK Govt websites removed)"

Hmm that is odd. This came over though. Ya that's interesting I haven't heard much about that, we will definitely ask our UK friends to hear more. Thanks for sharing.

Under Maine state law, bicycles are all required to have amber reflectors on the pedals making these pedals technically against the law in the state of Maine! Shame on Redshift...

Doubt you’d get in trouble if the whole point of reflectors is to make you visible, and this makes you more visible than reflectors
@gingiberfelis4879Ай бұрын
@@HaleighBird-wr2xb leaves you wide open to litigation or prosecution though.

Modules too easy to steal. Need locks.

Thats an idea. I wouldn't think most people would assume they are removable, but it is easy enough to remove them and bring them with you.
