DPA! My uncle died yesterday. I was next to him on his final moments. Lung collapsed, he had very little energy left. But when I arrived, he spent al of his last energy to sit next to me on a chair and to talk to me. He showed his character and force of will until the last moments. May God have Mercy on his soul!

Maybe there is some truth to the rumor that AFU has diverted 1/3 of it's force to the north east, guess they have already given up in Donbass and pinning all their hopes in the North East Operation. the soldiers who were left behind have to feel abandoned. Not only are they facing a pissed off russia but they are doing it with fewer men and equipment and the equipment that they have left is just the leftover lower quality stuff. The temporary moral boost that they got from their attack into russian territory long gone and replaced with dread.

@islandwills2778 I’m a professional warrior with 14 years of experience and counting, and even I am at best wary about getting into any sort of fight with the Russians, and the concept of facing the fury of the Russians, especially after invading their land and killing their people, is something that terrifies me. As German statesman Bismarck said, the fury of the Russians is a slow but terrible thing, and once roused, nothing will save you, the debt will be paid, and the wrong will be avenged. Keep in mind this was a man who was a statesman and military leader, in the finest tradition of a powerful militarist country that had basically been fighting Russia on and off for 500 years and whose survival depended upon as he put it a good relationship with the Russians.

@@Mortablunt Thats how this war seems to have been going. When it started the Russian military seemed really disorganized, really inefficient and frankly made a lot of amateur mistakes. However as time goes on they have improved. I think if western propaganda was not so good this war would have ended a long time ago. But sadly we have reporters who spawn russian shovel memes telling western viewers how the ukrainians are winning while ignoring reality .

This war vs Russia is just the Great Game version 2.0 (1800's). What would the USA do if China/Russia spent 5 billion and installed a puppet government in Canada/Mexico? We already seen how the USA reacted in the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

On the one hand, they acknowledge that the operation is a failure; on the other hand, they continue to attack. I would think that this recognition is only a trick and that in spite of all they have not abandoned the idea of creating a major incident at the KPP. The defeat in the East would make it only more urgent.

I suspect all this retreating is caused by the collapse of Ukrainian logistics. Units at the frontline have very limited supplies of food and water, and if they run out, they have to retreat.

If you want to draw front boundary lines use the roads: N15, E50, T5011, T504, etc. From north to south.

At this point, we have army commander (Sirsky) who admitted Kursk idea failed, and wanted to redeploy those forces (elite ones?) back to donetsk front.yetzelensky refused , and we are seeing slow collapse of ukrainian conscripts not willing to fight here. We should start thinking this could be somewhat political decision that Zelensky made with russians. Did west approved it as well, we dont know. But quite possibly we are seeing quiet (in the eyes of mainstream) surrender of Donbass, not further from my perspective.

@@Levon_RnD In WW1 brits was fighting and shelling german trenches for a few days and british, under command of marshall Haig, thought it was enough to capture them, but Germans turns out, was really good at fortification. So Haig orderd his man to charge the Germans thinking there will be no resistance, brits was going shoulder to shloder. And when Germans saw the praid coming their way, they made it go away. Brits took over 60000 casualties in 1 day.

He thought that german trenches is gonna be like british one and there would be nothing left by the time he was done. We know now that germans was really good at fortifying their positions. So when Haig ordered his men over the top, shoulder-to-shoulder, he thought there would be no resistance. So when germans saw the parade coming towards them, they maid it go away. The British took nearly 60000 casualties in a day.

I get the feeling ukr feels it needs to preserve its forces and defend hard in one of 3 places: kramatorsk/slovyansk, donestsk border area, or Dnipro city. My bet is on dnipro city since I don't think Russia is stopping at donetsk border anymore. However commitment to kursk operation makes things difficult.

Russians went from losing entire BATTALIONS of armor - up to 9 - 12 tanks plus IFVs - all at once trying to storm Vuledar and now may end up taking the city without a fight if they complete the sweep from Vodyane.
