No one seems to want to talk about the sub-par QC Tudor has been exhibiting. - Lume paint falling off - Sunken lume pip (BB 41 and 58) - GMT Date issue (fixed on newer models?) - Misaligned hour markers on BB58 models, mostly blue and the 6 position - Misaligned bezels Might as well just buy a 62MAS. The OP is nice looking, as is the Explorer I 39mm (I'm so mad they axed that as it was the perfect size), and the Explorer II are great. Not much appeals to me beyond that. I would take a Pelagos over a Sub, and I'm very likely to put my money where my mouth is for my birthday next year. They could stand to diversify their lineup a bit more, but that's being picky.

John, the real ugly truth about Tudor is that they seem to adopt the strategy of their parent Rolex, and not fully supply the demand despite being the high volume arm of Rolex. After the Watches & Wonders announcements earlier this year, I want to buy a Tudor Chronograph, i.e. the Panda. However, like their parent Rolex, Tudor seems to have supply issues at the AD level, and the Panda is not available in the USA. I am so disappointed in Tudor, and blaming supply issues on Covid is not an acceptable excuse. Plus the gray market is charging over list already for the Panda model. Imo, The Tudor Watches today are the Rolex watches of yesterday with regards to style and design. Rolex started as a proper tool watch and then evolved into a “Bling” luxury watch, while Tudor Watches continued to maintain more, being “the proper TOOL Watch” of today than Rolex. Another difference is the metal. Rolex uses 904L, while Tudor uses 316L stainless steel metals. Movements are refined and improved as well. Overall, they’re both made under the same people, that built and designed these 2 great watches, under the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation. So, it’s a no brainer that when it comes to quality and durability, both watches are au par. Personally for me, whatever Watch Brand that’s preferred more by the Worlds Navy Forces is the real Greatest of all Time! -not the Bling -not the Hyped -not the one who has the crow, but the one who holds the Shield.

BUT, my Fifty Eight is incredibly accurate, more legible, and in my opinion, the bezel action is better than my Sub. My Sub’s bezel will move on its own during wear, but my Fifty Eight will only move when I move it. Good news to my OCD, that wants marker to stay at 12:00. Sorry for long comment.

Great topic and good video but in my option everything could be told in 8 minutes instead of 15.

The Tudor GMT is junk and so is the warranty. The date wheel has been a problem from day one and Tudor never acknowledged it publicly and never fixed it. (It gets stuck between days) The problem still persist today. I bought one new when it first came out a couple of years ago and had to send it in four times under warranty to fix it, and it always came back not fixed. I asked my authorized dealer why can't they ever fix this? He shrugged his shoulders and had no answer. Now my warranty is up and I am stuck with a watch with a broken date wheel that not even Rolex/Tudor can fix. Their warranty is of no use if they can't even fix their own watch.

Sorry to hear that, but didn’t Tudor pro rate and extend the warranty for 5 years for people who previously purchased one before their change to 5 year warranty?
@bigmacdaddy12343 жыл бұрын
@@Billeh556 Nope. Once my warranty was up, I was told that any future attempts to repair it will be out of pocket. And even if they extended it 100 years, they are still unable to repair their own watch. It is amazing that Rolex/Tudor can't even get a simple date function working right.

Agree entirely. Great watches, but the pop/sports celebrity endorsements/ambassadors, dilute the Tudor brand.

I just don’t like the dial and bracelet on the seamasters so I got the BB58, love it. Though If I ever find a Rolex at retail, I’ll pick one up.

I totally agree with your assessment. They need to get these pop folk out of there. They now have an agreement with the French Nationale and hope they use real divers as ambassadors. Maybe we may see a Tudor Submariner. We will see.

Tudor vs Rolex - you can go into an AD and buy a Tudor. Major plus point!

I can sum up my dislike of Tudor in one single part of their watches: I cannot stand that damn “chopped off” hour hand! I find it sad too cuz a few of their pieces are tempting. But that damn chopped hand…..

Do people actually use Tudor or Rolex for diving anymore? Pretty unlikely someone is going to dive with a 5k watch on and even less likely they will dive with a 15k watch on. I've got a Rolex Submariner and the deepest it's been is about 6 foot, in a pool

I used to have an Oyster perpetual a couple of years ago and now I own a Tudor BB58 (and I really love it!). Main differences, except the movements, are the materials used by Rolex, as we all know the 904 steel, gold hands and hour markers. You are absolutely right about the different feeling when touching both Tudor and Rolex. Rolex has a smoother, almost glass like steel surface due to the 904 ss . Very very premium feel! That's something that Tudor is not allowed to replicate in their watches. They are still perfectly polished/brushed, but do not have that Rolex feeling. Arguably Tudor has a better clasp! ;)
@ssherman8553 жыл бұрын
Curious why you think Tudor has the better clasp (except maybe the Pelagos) I have the chrono and find the bracelet less than great and micro adjustments terrible. That is really the only flaw though
@StoLineaR3 жыл бұрын
@@ssherman855 I like the overall aesthetics of the clasp with the integrated shield and the ceramic balls that click perfectly every single time :) You are right about the micro! The Pelagos with that hole in the clasp isn't my type design wise.

Tudor was LITERALLY created to be the affordable alternative to Rolex. How then is it NOT the poor mans Rolex?

Hummm designs.
@FFL30013 жыл бұрын
@@박상보-u7u any Tudor design that competes with Rolex is slightly uglier than Rolex. Knurling on bezel and crown, hands, case shape. And it will always be like that. Because anything else wouldn't make sense for Rolex. That's the biggest problem with Tudor. They will always be a bit shit by design as to not upset the Big Crown. At least brands like Omega and Breitling TRY to be the best in this segment. Tudor will never try.

Take a black bay 41 or black bay 58 and compare it to a pre ceramic submariner: both aluminium bezels, Tudors 70hr power reserve vs the 48hrs of the Rolex. The Rolex bracelet to me, IS more elegant, but the Quality of the Tudors clasp & bracelet beats a pre ceramic Rolex’s chinsy offering out of site: it’s just better quality, with less finesse than Rolex. So to me, Tudor are doing what Rolex used to do, but better, more solidly built, more heft, but without all the market prestige of Rolex. Rolex left that arena.
