I mean if I can get 500hp reliably and relatively cheap for a daily driver i would be more than happy. I dont need 1000 hp on tap wth. Just the noises would make me happy 😂 thanks for your input, a video inside the cab during a drive would make a good vid too!

Great video 👍👍 People who ask how is it on the street with the turbo don't need this type of truck. They need to stick with their NA factory style car. They'll wrap themselves around a telephone pole with this truck.

Very cool. I have an 05 extended cab with the L33 engine. I've been thinking about turboing it for the past few years. Although I may want to find a crew cab version. Ill have to go through your vids to soak up the information

So i have a stupid question, if i were to do something like this to my 6.0 2500, would i need to upgrade the transmission, or.... Lol. My boss challenged me to a race today, and it has me thunking. Lol

It really would depend on the miles and condition of the trans. The quadrasteer I did had a bone stock trans and converter with a lot of miles on it.

I don't think belt slip at mild boost levels would be that bad but if you are trying to max out the supercharger then ya probably but i agree otherwise
@ronmeyer877010 ай бұрын
great video sir. I would love to do something like this in my 2005 Yukon Denali.
@MrShenron89 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the only supercharger I like is the belt-driven turbos (procharger, vortech). When it comes to these trucks, I like my power at the mid-high to high range, which those applications are perfect. I basically want a stock truck at the lower end lol. Seeing several folks have tested the belt slipage, you're pretty safe till about 850ish hp.
@foxracermach5 Жыл бұрын
there is no belt slip with the proper set up with that little baby 1.9L blower. I get the reasons on dealing with belt slip issues vs turbo. I am going turbo on my truck because I don't want to hurt my MPG any more than I have all ready.
@MPKPerformance Жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct that with a smaller blower belt slip isn't as big of an issue, but a properly belt setup just costs more money. Mpg is also another reason I typically use turbos. I will be curious to see what kind of power this tbss will make compared to one of my turbo setups.
@Freedom_is_better_than_safety Жыл бұрын
While turbos are certainly cheaper per HP, a factory roots supercharger like Boost District sells is more reliable IMHO. I have a 6.0 4L80 1500HD that’s turbo and the same setup in a half ton that’s LSA with a griptech pulley. The half ton is far less trouble because it has long tube headers and a bolt on kit exhaust, so no real package issues. I just got recommended the channel so I will be checking into your builds and seeing if I’ve done something wrong on my turbo build. I have tune issues on that truck for sure, so that’s part of it, but the extra exhaust and routing and plug wires are always a pain for me as a daily.
@MPKPerformance Жыл бұрын
@RUSHAVED you do make a good point, design execution is important. I don't buy some kits for that reason. With a stock exhaust manifold on the driver's side, and the t4 log on the passenger side, it doesn't kill wires. This turbo has a 4" down pipe, but other turbos have 3" and would make routing easier. And yes, tune is critical...the changes from how I had it to how it came off the dyno made a big difference. Sometimes it's worth it to throw it on the dyno and get it ironed out. But finding a good tuner can be a problem as well.
@Freedom_is_better_than_safety Жыл бұрын
@@MPKPerformance Finding a good tuner for drivability is nearly impossible. My Dyno tune isn’t that different from my rough tune, but it makes peak power. The drivability isn’t what it was before the turbo, and I want that back. It has a small cam, but no one shares their tunes online anymore since the EPA messed with HPTuners and others.
@MPKPerformance Жыл бұрын
@RUSHAVED that's very unfortunate. I would recommend trying to dial it in yourself. I've learned everything I know because of bad experiences trying to rely on others. Watch goat rope garage and only use the wideband for wot. Watch his video on using ltft to tune cruise, as the wideband isn't accurate at low speed. If you have any questions, just ask.

Do you keep the 60e in the trucks you build? I did a built 80e in my last turbo Silverado. Would like to build another to flip but keep the 60e to keep cost down. 5-600hp do they last?
@MPKPerformance Жыл бұрын
I haven't had good luck with a 60e behind turbo 6.0's. The other thing is resale value, most people see turbo and 60e and aren't interested.

Do you have a list of what you buy to build your own kit? have been looking at the on3 single kit for my 05, but if i can get out cheaper i would much rather go that route.
@MPKPerformance Жыл бұрын
I would steer clear of the on3 kit, plug wire access and the overall design don't appeal to me. I prefer to use the amazon log and build everything how I want it, because typically the "kits" don't fit as they should. The closest thing I have to a list of things to buy would be in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3jakICGnpVkotU

Run a fuel composition sensor and you can use E85 or 87-91 octane. You can fill up anywhere, and I never leave E85 in my tank for more than a week or so.
@MPKPerformance Жыл бұрын
The problem is, I don't have E85 readily available. And in my opinion 674whp is plenty for just cruising around, no need for the extra complexity. Another point would be parts breakage at the higher horsepower level.

These trucks have 4 factory. You only use the front two. One goes in the crossover, and one somewhere in the downpipe off the turbo. These are both bank 1&2 sensor 1, and rears are turned off.
