I kinda miss Sears. They're such an old store & I guess I like nostalgia. Sears & Robuck, my mom usually bought us school clothes with my Granny's credit card & make payment cuz we were pretty poor. Heck, I'm still poor lol but that's ok. I have better things in life that I'm blessed with! All you guys are some of those. Thanks as always Tom! 😺⚔️👍🏻

There's a lot of old stores that bring back memories. Nothing like going to "the city" (a town of 30 or 40 thousand) to a Sears, Montgomery Wards, etc, as a kid. Thanks for watching, BB.

I used a craftsman knife a 5 inch lockback back in 81’ to early 2000 ,, as my edc .. loved that knife . It was heavy though ( as all those 5 inch lock backs)used it in the elevator construction /repair trade. It had finger cut /soft grips . Made by Camillus, but never a Camillus model like it (finger grooves) My brother gave me a spiderco delica around 2000.. since then I’ve always had a delica ( mostly ) ( or at least some type of Spyderco ).as edc. I had 3 years of electricity shop in high school. First day of shop ; teacher said to bring x amount to purchase a Camillus electricians knife. Loved that class … tossin around ‘live’ capacitors when the teacher stepped out.. great memories. Class of 75’ … I remember using that knife early on in my elevator years… don’t remember using it that much.. but it disappeared . I haven’t lost many knives, but that was one of them.. When we were cleaning out mom n dad’s old house. , I found some old model car kits… as I picked up an old Torino box I remembered cutting my thumb bad with my Boy Scout knife( Those tires had a rubber X piece molded in that needed to be cut out… I had sliced my thumb… Would you believe?,,, After 40 some years I was re united with my blood stained knife … that knife sits in my wife’s China cabinet ( now my knife display cabinet ) .. none of our girls wanted my better half’s China ( that we used 2 times in 38 years… so she donated the China . What a wife. Now playing cards with couples … always ends with pulling out knife or two .. sometimes with the ladies asking about them. Now if I could only find that camillus cqb that said proto on it ( I hope I did not sell that one by mistake🤔).

I have a large and medium stockman made by Camillus, they are matching knives with brass bolsters, and rosewood covers. Very good knives. I rescued both from flea markets, and in my opinion they are worth collecting. Thanks for the video Tom. God bless.

I've got a Camillus-made Craftsman large stockman that I found in an antique store and cleaned it up. It was in the picture I sent you last week. IMO they are very well made. I don't know about the value as far as collecting, I just buy them and clean them up because I like to carry and use them. And that knife has become one of my favorite stockman patterns to carry👍Cheers, buddy!

I was thinking someone worked on those scales to give them a better hold. A craftsman collection would be very interesting, and there's a small corp of dedicated craftsman collectors 😊

I agree those are definitely worth collecting. My dad always had a couple laying around, but I can't seem to find them now. Camillus was making just about everything back then it seems! Very nice video!

Very definitely worth collecting. They were made by major manufacturers and you also have your Sears collectors that will collect anything Sears and Robuck.

It’s good to hear some additional info on these knives. I’m a big fan of the Craftsman’s, and I have knives from “Klein Tools”, Stanley Tools (Proto), etc. my favorite is the big Craftsman clone of the Buck 110 (I think it’s a Schrade LB7 with Craftsman markings).

I have an electrician knife, it’s not craftsman but it is stamped sears. So basically it’s craftsman I think. Thank you for the videos

I like the craftsman’s I got, some made by camillus, some made by shrade. You can usually tell which is which, if you’re familiar with each brand. I’ve seen some nice bone handled craftsman lockbacks from Japan, made by Parker most likely. Cool video, thanks for sharing

Are Sears Craftsman Knives worth collecting? Depends? Do you like them and do they bring you enjoyment? If the answer is yes, then they are worth collecting. If you're buying them simply because you're going to sell them to supplement your retirement... probably not. My feeling is Craftsman knives were made by Camillus and Schrade at different times. I've also heard Utica may have made a knife or two . Yep, the Peanut is almost always 2 7/8 Dogleg Jack. Incidentally, the TL-29 version of the Electrician knife first appeared in the mid to late 1930's. just in time for WWII. The earlier Signal Corps knife looked very similar but to did not use a liner-lock to keep the screwdriver open. Instead the early Signal Corps Knives used a "Back Spring Lock" to secure the screwdriver. To disengage the locked screwdriver, you need to push down on the closed spear master blade. The signal corps knives were slightly larger than the TL-29. They saw very limited use in WWII as they were already phased out. But they were in service during WWII and possibly as early as the 1880s. These earlier Signal Corps knives are pretty difficult to find. I'll check out Clark's Kentucky Knives.

I feel collecting /using/ buying quality tools that are little known /appreciated … especially as USERS is a great deal ! There are a couple craftsman knives that I keep my search status turned on, on eBay … I love it when nobody else is watching . I’ve heard it said : ‘A good deal is a state of mind’. Well it is good to pick up a knife less than what I feel it is really worth $ wise ,, but also in a way that it is under appreciated.. for what it is. Like finding a diamond in the rough .. as the saying goes.

The Electricians knife looks a bit beefier (bigger-heavier) than others. If that is so could it have been made by Kutmaster? Otherwise I would guess Camillus though several other cutleries were up to the task. Nice looking peanut too Tom, thanks buddy.
