Im a schizophrenic. I do doordash for extra money. One order at night, i arrived and walked to the door, placed his food down and took a picture. I got in my car and drove away. 30 minutes later he called and asked where his food was, i totally remember taking the picture at his doorstep. So he took it up with Doordash. An order later, i opened my back door and.. saw his order. I was so confused why it was there. I remembered everything about going there and taking the picture. He said I was never on his cameras.. Appearantly i hallucinated the whole delivery. I was there, but must of never left the car or even drove up.. What was i doing then?? Staring blankly at the windshield? With glazed over eyes?? I called him and apologized but he already got his refund. I felt so terrible. Im on medication and nothing works. It just goes to show how easily some misfirings in the brain can completely alter your sense of reality.

My best friend is schizophrenic but he hates labels and meds and I'm scared I might lose him...he is very intelligent and believes most everything he sees even if it's horrifying and doesn't make sense. I don't know how to help him, if you have any advice I'll take it

@woolzem I talk to my voice, we talk all day internally, if people are around and I talk to him out loud if I'm in the car alone. Making a relationship with this evil bustard has probably saved my life. We like each other now, we still be talking shit.. but we mind eachothers experience. Some will say "its just you talking back to yourself" Imo no it isn't, It's the other side of your psyche talking to you. It saved my life (so far) if recommend he try it if he doesn't already. Just make the voice laugh all the time and it'll start being "better" to him.. And of course take your meds. You gotta say that online here lol

the complexity argument can be refuted just by playing a few hours of minecraft. If the minecraft world spawned and loaded an entire pre-rendered copy of itself the size alone would require a supercomputer to run it (with a data center to store all the pre-rendered data). Our simulation is seemingly procedural in nature. The "game" loads and the save file becomes larger the more one explores.

Yeah you're assuming our reality is based off our type of computers etc..., who knows what tools other intelligent beings are using to create anything they want.

I have done a few past life regressions The interface was the same as the same as any replay on most any PC game that has been made post Windows 95. Not as in WASD controls the movements that you can conduct.

There can be exponential of exponential of architechs. You ask then whose architect comes above theirs. It is layers and layers, and it may be something that loops into itself. We could call it God

How the hell did this guy PLATO know this or think this way LONG before any computors ever existed to be used as an example.. We can relate to this theory because of high tech PC sim games that we played.. But he didnt experience this... right ?

Plato's version is low-tech, 2 dimensional version, but it illustrates the same idea. It's based largely on the allegory of the cave, in Book 7 of the Republic. The prisoners in the cave see shadows on the wall cast by an unknown source and take them as real, but these are just unseen people behind them moving objects whose shadows get projected onto the wall - these shadows are all that the prisoners can see, the wall is like a screen. The true reality is outside the cave (though how to get out isn't addressed). What it has in common with today's multidimensional, vastly higher tech version, is that what we take as real is actually illusion.
