It seems like half of what the (for lack of a better term) "animal NPCs" say is just something like "hey here's some things ahead that can kill you so beware" and Arin is still just like "I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS THING IS!" Like, I'm pretty sure the wall socket is just something the mousemama was saying was a potential hazard he'd have to pass. Poetry, or just any form of rhyming with fancy words, is too much for Arin's melting brain. If you imagine Arin has literally become this roach then that helps his complete inability to follow any dialogue make sense.

32:00 that's not electrical wire, that's copper piping, for raidiators or coolers, extreme heat or cold is killing the roach, not electricity. The reason for the over exaggerated acting was the actor was told he had to so that it would register on the video because back in the day video fmv would be heavily pixelated due to compression techniques. I love this game because you have to think macro and pay attention to the surroundings and riddles. You have to think like a roach! Also if you see another roach go off screen that's a hint of where to follow. I also love the soundtrack which a remixed version of it came free with my GOG copy of the game, so in appreciation i found the composer's site and donated some money to them.

This game is a 90s take on the book The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. I suppose it's like Harvester in that it tries to have social commentary by being edgy, but this game isn't the same kind of weird that Harvester is. Not really from what I recall.

You know, roaches can fly.. And speaking of fun roach facts, the reason they along with other arthropods resist radiation so well is that after the radiation damages their DNA, they don't need to use it for a while. They actually don't make any new cells until molting time (which is also why they can go so long without food. when they go dormant they are basically in stasis). Once they do molt though, all that radiation damage will immediately become a problem.
