Күн бұрын

Note from TED: We've flagged this talk, which was filmed at an independent TEDx event, because it falls outside TED's curatorial guidelines, by virtue of its questionable use of scientific language. For example, its use of quantum physics to make claims about psychic phenomena would not be accepted by most scientists. The guidelines we give our TEDx organizers are described in more detail here:
www.ted.com/pag...
*******
Science states that humans have evolved over thousands of years. So have we reached the pinnacle of our abilities and our mind's potential? Do Quantum Physics and consciousness hold the key to our evolution? Pam Oslie will explore the answers to these questions and will reveal how electro-magnetic fields, non-local mind, and parallel universes play key roles in our development.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

This makes so much sense! I know 2 close family members who were able to look inside me when I had something wrong with my body but hadn’t gotten exploratory surgery yet and they knew where it was and what it was and what it looked like so I was able to let my doctor know what type I needed and where to go and they found the problem and fixed it ❤

She's amazing. She pinpoints the fact that we squander our natural abilities and helps people understand our potential. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean others can't. When we break out of all out conditioning and elevate to higher states of consciousness, the things she talks about become normal. Not everyone will understand, nor believe because we have been stuck for so long at a lower level of consciousness. Just like many many before who have been trailblazers for human thought and abilities, they tend to get shut down. It's hard to "prove" because you can't see of feel it due to lack of awareness of these higher states. Other people are born with direct access to these states and abilities and they are the ones trying to share their gifts to help the greater whole.

I not only fervently studying quantum physics but also do my best to apply this new information to my life. I tend to push the boundaries because I believe there are many things we don’t know yet - and that we are capable of being much more than we’ve been taught. And I’ve proven these possibilities and abilities to myself as well as to many others.

Pamala helped me so much growing up when I was struggling with understanding auras and energy. Back then (2009), some people still wrote long emails and I happened to catch her a week she wasn't busy. She helped me understand my friends, relationships and why the aspect of the aura I saw looked different.

I also encourage people to trust what they sense is possible - not just blindly accept what others are telling them is possible or not possible. I subscribed to Einstein’s belief that “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.”

It’s challenging to share everything I know and have experienced in an 18-minute lecture. So in this TEDx talk I quickly covered just a few highlights and explained them in simple terms so that more people could understand them. Most people don’t understand and therefore are not interested in quantum physics because the language used is confusing and complex.

Thanks Pam for being willing to be out front with what some of us have experienced, but not to the extent that you have. When I first saw a huge violet aura around Steven Halpern after listening to him play the piano in Boulder in the early 80ies, I went home and started asking my three children..... they all could see aura as well. My oldest daughter became a "Born again Christian" and considered it "Black Magic." How sad......... Pam, You are a pioneer and I thank you !

Great talk! limiting beliefs are like a cancer - time to expand and venture out into new possibilities. Who care what science can prove - science has always been so far behind the reality of how things work. Throughout history some scientific beliefs have been so ridiculous and so crude and in time have turned out to be completely false. Answers can be easily found in the collective consciousness - which everyone can tap into!

I had a reading with Pam about 15 years ago that was rather unnerving as it didn't fit at all with my life at that time on the west coast. She was able to see that I'd (probably, as in "free will") be living in the Caribbean, vacationing on the east coast and serving in the Peace Corps, all of which I did within a few years of the session. I certainly didn't do any of that because she'd read my fortune and told me to do so.

Some perceive psychics as delusional, new age kooks, or charlatans who deceive weak-minded people. While some can fit that stereotype, not all those with intuitive or psychic abilities are that way. (People with "issues" exist in every profession.) My definition of a psychic is one who has developed expanded consciousness, who is actualizing the natural abilities inherent in all of us. I'm only one of many who is authentically experiencing & proving these advanced abilities are real.

I will begin by saying that to become as knowledgeable as I can about a subject, I study, learn, ask questions, and then experiment with the information to see if it’s true for me. I study some of the most cutting-edge thinkers to see what they know. I will post the names of some of the physicists whose material I have researched and studied. So if anyone is interested in learning more, they can research these same physicists’ work. Obviously there would be too much information to discuss here.

Scientists evolve their understanding of “reality” all the time. They used to believe the earth was flat and that it was the center of the universe. They even had scientific “proof” that the earth wasn’t moving - they dropped an object from a tall tower and then measured it on the ground, declaring that it was the same distance from the tower as it was when it was dropped so therefore the earth was not moving.

Many things were true long before science proved them. So I have also learned to trust & depend on my own inner intuition, knowledge and experiences too - even more than I trust the “experts.” I’ve learned that even the scientific experts can get it wrong. Scientific “facts” seem to change time & time again. Scientists also usually argue & disagree with each other - so who knows who is really right. I always encourage people to question, to learn, & to observe their own feelings & inner sense.

3:00 She says we're still clinging to an obsolete beliey sys. (classical physics). 1., We would not have lasers, MRIs, and ipods, without quantum mechanics. 2., Quantum mechanics does not exactly supplant classical physics. C. Physics still holds true for our size/speed (space/time). So intuitively C. Physics makes sense, and Q. Physics does not seem to make sense--since we do not live at the quantum level. Pam says that "what's true for quanta must be true for us." That's false.

excellent talk. people may question how much science she is actually using to back what she says but i enjoy reading about science, physics and math and this is pretty much what modern science is saying about reality. some people may think a deeper understanding of how quantum physics translates into reality may show these strange possibilties such as parallel universes and non-local consciousnous as false but i think a basic understanding of modern physics shows easily how they must be true.

Her readings of the attendees were astonishing (sarcasm): "I can see by your aura that you have a great sense of humor...and that you're a good friend...and I can see that you're very practical but at the same time there's a dreamer..." She lost me at the cliche, "This is a power we all have, I've just developed it more than you." 3:32 "Everything is made of 'energy' and there's no separation at all. There's no empty space between us." Pam then smiles as she says this. I believe she may be equivocating, using 2 different senses of the word, "energy." 3:45 "Consciousness is non-local." This is a philosophical concept long before Q Mechanics. Brain - local. Mind - non-local. Again, I think she heard a guy say something about Q Mechanics, threw in a few scientific buzz-words, then ran with it.

Since when do we get our science from a fortune teller? She repeatedly says, "Quantum physics says..." and then says something unrelated to quantum physics (similar to how preachers often say, "The Bible says..." then they just say something modern which isn't in the Bible). So to be a guest on TED Talks, now all I have to do is claim to have superpowers, "I can travel thru other dimensions, I can see your auras, and I can eat walnuts using my 3rd row of teeth." She is not a scientist.

Yes, of course. However, whenever Pam brought science to back her up, she was mistaken. It doesn't matter whether I would enjoy a possibility if that possibility is unscientific (in other words, untrue). I "disliked" this video primarily because Pam mentioned science at all, when she has no authority (even if she had a miracle ability, that doesn't mean she's knows the truth of everything) and displayed a wealth of ignorance to the research that has actually been conducted.

Why doesn't she prove these abilities? Why doesn't she submit to a rigorous test of her energy fields: for example identifying whether or not a human is behind a box by seeing the aura. She would actually change the world if she did that. Why doesn't she? My guess is because she knows she would fail. That's why she talks about quantum physics (a field I actually work in) with clearly zero understanding.

Or even better, be put in the middle of a pitch black room with a human sitting at one point - have her point to the human every single time (if she can see the aura)

Jesus Christ why isn't she finding survivors under the rubble post-earthquakes!?!?!?! Why isn't she known as the hero of Haiti???? She should have flown out there immediately!!!!

Idk,,, but I saw her in person a few years ago, and she was able to see my colors right away. That might mean nothing to u at first, but the thing is, she had never met me, and there are many colors, and they represent different types of personalities. About a week later I did her online questionnaire about auras (a lot of questions) and I got the exact colors she saw. She also knew a few other things that seemed rather impossible for her to know.

She's cherry-picking interesting scientific facts and mixing/interpreting them as superstitious/illusory nonsense wishful beliefs. Parallel universes only existing in the human imagination! While we are part of infinite existence with infinite potentialities and possibilities, that does not necessarily validate many of the claims that she is stating here. Auras? Give me a break! Quantum physics are still way too complex and way too miniature for todays science to properly analyze and study its compositions and its functions. Therefore, quantum physics is still only being considered as an assumption phase. Scientists still working on to invent miniaturized technological machineries (nano robots) to be able to properly get down into the quantum level/field to begin analyze its real (non-theoretical) constituents. Until then, anyone who are claiming anything about quantum physics are only telling wishful tails!
