My wife told me when she was a teen, her mother sent her to Barbizon - some of you are probably too young to know what Barbizon is, but the school taught her how to use make-up, dress, speak and even how to walk and sit😅. Back when we dated I was running a fixed income and derivatives trading desk at an investment bank. I remember inviting her to the office Christmas party- and boy the next day I got so many compliments from senior management. One senior director even told me she reminded him of his wife and I should marry her quickly 😅😅. Now that I think of it, she had an impact on my career as I advanced at the firm 😅

I am tired of the roll-out-of-bed-ladies who won’t brush hair or teeth or shower. They roll from bed to car and then judge the ladies at the office who woke up 3.5 hours before work to get ready, smell good, look good, and FEEL good. There’s no need for anger. Just treat yourself better. You matter and you can’t pour from an empty cup. Fill your cup. Take care of yourself.

I’m not surprised by the backlash. I’m 41 years old and was bullied when I was young for being “too feminine”. I recently attended a professional conference where I had another grown woman try to call me “out” for having on heels and light makeup. I’m mature enough to recognize that behavior had way more to do with how she felt about herself than getting me together . ❤

If you are COMPETING in a market, in this case the DATING POOL, you have to put your BEST FOOT FORWARD. I do not know why that is difficult to understand. If you want a job, you get a skill. If you want a shoe, you work to buy it. So why is it difficult to put yourself together to COMPETE with OTHER WOMEN to get a man. A lot of men are doing the work too. They go to the gym, find jobs to do increase their earnings just so they can impress a woman. So why cant a woman do the same?

I took my Granddaddy to the market this weekend and I took a little more time to fix myself up. He was blown away and didn't fuss that I took longer to pick him up. He said, "where you going looking all fixed up." He was smiling from ear to ear. A cute casual outfit, light makeup, and jewelry was all it took. AAANNNDDD I'm working on my weight.
