You never mentioned shopping for the best deal. Just like shopping for the RV you can shop for your financing. I just ordered a 44K coach with 20K down payment and an 800+ credit score. The dealer offered me 8.99% financing. I spoke with my CU they offered 6.99%, so I told my dealer and they came back with 6.74% with even better terms. Spending a little time shopping the financing can save you a lot of money.

Good for you. 6.99% that means the dealership bought down the interest rate! Credit unions off and on will do well with rates. I could be wrong, but at the 8.99% I bet you could have negotiated a lot lower price.

Mahalo for the great info. I thought it would be just like getting a car loan but I was totally wrong. I plan on buying a used class c RV in the next few months and feel more educated on the process. Thank you for a most informative but depressing at the same time. My scenario. Retired,income,social security…$35,000.00 Credit Score….841 At the time of purchase I will have ‘’0’’ debt,sold my condo and car hoping to travel extensively. Will establish home base with my son rent free. Looking at used Revel,2023,8000 miles $95,000.00 from a dealer,willing to put down up to $40,000.00 Would prefer to keep as much cash as possible,but 40K is doable Looking for 10 year financing. Is my dream shattered? Thanks much.

With that kind of downpayment, the dealer will be able to get an equity call done! Your payment to income should line up. Just buy it before your house sells. At least go get the loan set up the month your house goes into escrow
