I know there's a lot of similar process other than DCTLS. I hope you'll gonna do BOTH. I miss the old you brother.

Bro, I know you've been trying to sell your stuff lately, but could you tone it down a bit? You can still sell it, just in a more subtle way. It shouldn't feel like we have no other options besides buying your DCTL. I liked your previous "Get Hollywood-like Complementary Colors" tutorial. If you need to sell your product, please keep it in that style, but try to show your real grading skills. I know you can do better, but it feels like you intentionally held back just to sell your product.

Tone it down? Keep it subtle? Am I selling a scam that I am not aware of? 😂 Me, Waqas Qazi, as a professional colorist, grade his projects using Qazi's Toolkit because there is no better option out there currently. Showing you any other way will be faking it and sorry but I will not do that. I would rather stop making videos all together than be a cheat because I don't want to share the newest greatest thing I am using to achieve high end results.
@MrKokom4 ай бұрын
@@theqazman except the newest greatest thing is your own tool. Your audience will take it as bias. And your tools are not accessible to all of them. They barely can afford Davinci Studio. So you will be narrowing your audience.

What a sad world to live in where you think everyone is pulling a fast one on you. The purpose of my channel from day 1 was to create taste makers thru real world scenarios. Every professional colorist knows that time is our hottest commodity. Don't go by the people putting out tutorial showing you how to spend 8 hours building a look from scratch. No pro has that much time. We all use third party tools to get an edge over our competition. For me, it is a product I developed. That said I can only share my perspective I don't expect to change your mind. I wish you the best of luck.

@@theqazman Here's an idea: Do with Davinci's built in tool and show how difficult it is to do with it. While trying your best to achieve it. The very next section: Here's how to do it 5x faster and more accurately. People will love it, this is an honest feedback. Im your fan.
@kdleifert3 ай бұрын
@@theqazman I think you are missing the point being made. Taking your own advice from the video, listening to feedback is essential. You are a pro colourist and hopefully will become a pro business person, too, but the feedback I read is quite clear and I second it.

Come on. Pay attention to the video from 4:26, and take a screenshot of this frame, and you will understand that this is a really good result. And at this moment Qazi quickly skips this frame so that you don't focus your attention on it, the result is really good. QAZI focus your attention on their "subjectivity", and no more. Because with the correct exposure of the frame, also shot with good light, and shot with a good 12-bit camera, even a beginner with basic Color management skills can make a very beautiful picture in color. So here you need to take into account the moment of objectivity, who likes what, everyone has their own tastes. And also do not forget that each of us has different monitors, and in any case, when you upload this to the Internet, the result of what you see on your monitor and in the player of the same KZbin, will be different. Therefore, the main task here is to make a result that will be pleasant to your eye.

You created a really beautiful look there. I wish you could have shown how to create it using resolves tools as well instead of letting those who didn’t buy your product figure it out themselves. I’m not at the stage yet where I can justify spending that much money on your product and I believe that applies to most of your audience

30:20 - I do not get this "sat false color" chart thing. When you edited the beginner method and something was magenta there, you have said that it is not good and breaking (8:23), now in the pro version we actually want this?

I liked that you always show several levels of color grading and sharing your knowledge but in my opinion your dctl is used too much in recent videos. I know it's well built and you are proud of it but a combination if your dctl and regular grading like in the "clean white look" video was great. Since this is your channel and your dctl it's of course totally up to you how you structure your videos.

This was a great video I’m glad you showed all 3 stages first because it helped me identify where I’m at and you showed how to connect the dots to the next stage. This video is what I needed and you showed how to use your new tools definitely saving this 🙌🏾

And the most important thing is: it seems to me that Qazi before each of his tutorials, must say that the frame with which he will work is correctly exposed, shot in beautiful lighting, and also shot from a powerful 12-bit camera. I think he should always talk about this before starting his tutorial, so that people understand that he provides skills for professionals. And if he wants to share a tutorial for beginners, I think he should work with those materials that are available to beginners. Let's say a 10-bit camera is at least to start with.

Hello! I dont understand. Why are the colors breaking in the beginner version when applying the film look? I thought that was the right way to apply one of resolves film looks, converting to cineon film log before applying the film look. Please help me understand. /Sebastian

Hi Qazi ! It would be fun and great if you made a video on storage system . There is so many videos out there but no-one is really giving a step by step and flow of the back up routine, what and where goes specifically in the 3 2 1 system. I know you already have plans for new videos, but It would be really great 😊

Very good tips up to the intermediate level. After that I was hoping for good tips on the power tools available in DVR (knowing that you did in the past) and was disappointed to see mostly a promotional video. Nothing wrong with promotion by the way but it needs to be balanced with why we came to this channel, as well as, being more straightforward in the title with what it is.
