To be fair, no cult member would say that they are in a cult because if they knew that they were in a cult, they wouldn’t be in a cult.

also to be fair, they did not even address any real reason why people think they are cult. people can do their own research to find out. nothing wrong in bing in your own community, but you did not really begin to address this topic. also people are more concerned about the other leaders. you seem to not talk about them especially. so anything hidden. look up Ray Tinsman and others.

@summerlake356 yes, they are in a cult, and one day, their whole operation will fall apart, just like it has fallen for many groups like them before. They are not different from everybody else who subscribe to a group. But sometimes when you have leaders who think they can tell you how to dress (as a simple example) then you have a bigger issue to deal with. People where uniform in school, but imagine is they tell you what to wear all your life, you would start to wonder what’s going on?

Thank you, ladies, once again, for such an engaging discussion. Although I may not agree with all the perspectives given by you both and your guest, I completely agree that such discussions are crucial and necessary for us to foster understanding. The idea of a “cult” from my point of view is often misappropriated to create others out of people. Actual cults, no matter how varied and sinister, are identifiable and damaging. You all and your faith, are not. Please continue the work you do for your episodes, and thank you ladies once again. Upward and onward to 100,000 subscribers. Simply enjoyable…loved listening to to sister speak The word “cult” itself isn’t inherently negative; however, it carries both neutral and negative connotations. In a neutral sense, it can describe a group of people with strong devotion to a particular figure, idea, or movement, such as a “cult following” for a movie or celebrity, which is generally not viewed negatively. However, in modern times, many use the term to categorize religious or ideological groups they believe to be extremist, often with an implication of danger-suggesting these groups should not be approached. Critics often use the term to dismiss or undermine those with conviction and direction, perhaps because they lack these qualities themselves.

I began to watch your channel closer because one day while watching your channel my 17 year old son said that he admired you two and stated that you both had characteristics that he was going to look for in a wife. Lover of God, smart, hard-working, understanding of the Black male, feminine, etc. Things that he probably knows that I would pray for. Ok, so I learned all about what men should do under chivalry, but there has to be give and take. As a Christian myself raised traditionally, I meet a lot of women who expect very traditional behavior of me but immediately freeze up when I express the behavior I expect of them. Men raised like myself were constantly told all our lives about how we should treat a woman and all the things that we should do for them. However, we are almost never taught what to expect from a woman, leading to many troubles as many men simply cannot express their relational needs and expectations. Overall, I’m simply saying that the ideas and energy in the video could in a way contribute to the very issue we say we want to solve. Curious to maybe hear you ladies’ thoughts.

I have been very busy since this episode Wad released...but I am glad that I remembered to get to your comment. I do appreciate chivalry and expect it. If I can briefly tell you that I expect men to be men. I sit at a table with men that pay because they not only see my value but have access to it..and I believe that is why I was ever invited to the table in the first place. Here me also explain that these tables are not only with my husband but Community leaders, and etc. I am continually around men that take care of their families, children...if those are separate and stand on big business...and the women that surround them don't fall too short....young women moat definitely have to have value on their own to understand what type of man they want to lead them.
@vkx1940
@vkx1940 4 ай бұрын
@@maxxthebrand We are on the same page. But, the central premise of my comment wasn’t addressed. My question is this. What should a traditional, chivalrous, Christian young man expect from the women around him? I would contend that neither women or men know. The question is rarely ever discussed outside of very problematic spaces that aren’t positive to frequent. Even in your response, everything was, once again, about what men should do (and I agree we should do a lot) and leaves out any expectations for literally 50% of the marriage. There was no discussion of the give and take that must exist in a healthy community and no talk of what women’s role is. All you said was that “they don’t fall to short” and to me that’s not 100% sufficient. The role of women needs to spoken with the same directness and non-negotiable tone that men’s role was spoken of in this video. And this needs to be done in good faith, not in an echo chamber that believes misogynist things about women. All I’m asking is for women to meet me halfway. Aside - why must all of those discussions at some point focus so heavily on men paying for checks at restaurants? At this point, I’m thinking that’s 85% of what women think true masculinity is. I always pay for any woman I’m courting, but what about discussions of character, and integrity, and the potential to be a good father?

I admire and respect the love for God the modesty and the level of intellect displayed by these ladies. However as a former Jehovah’s Witness which is a cult I will say if any religion teaches that they are the one true church as JWs taught. If your religion says we’re the one true church all other churches are false we have to save others teach them truth and they must join us for salvation. If not we have pray that God will save them this is a cult. Also if there is a specific leader that they say got divine revelation from God and God used that person to build their religion and so the religion holds the person on high regard than it is infact a cult. Charles Taze Russell for Jehovah witnesses Ellen White with seven day Adventist it doesn’t mean the organization doesn’t teach some biblical truths but as a former cult member these are the signs. if doctrine changes over time it shouldn’t the Bible doesn’t change it says God is the same yesterday today and for ever! Jesus loves us all and he saves! We all must accept Christ as Lord and Savior every knee will bend! One way or another ! God bless you all !

What I wish for you both and your whole family is to wake up; wake up to the reality is that you are in a cult. Everything about it is a direct attack to your individuality. You can have high morals and principles without having to be part of such an extreme controlling religious group. I know there is much to lose but you are already lost; you don’t know whom you are outside this domination (I know I have been a Jehovah’s Witness for 20 years and freed myself). I hope you will grow strong enough to free yourself from it and learn to love yourself and get to know yourself outside the world that this cult has created for you to keep you, literally keep you. The world outside is not a bad place; the world to you is threatening otherwise such fanatical domination wouldn’t be formed. It is extreme and controlling. I am going in because you young, you have a whole life ahead of you; I pray that you learn how to put yourself first without becoming egotistical or selfish; enough self love to find worth within yourself and nothing outside yourself.

But after experiencing more members, my experience taught me that they have more diversity within their membership than I realized. So I'm just curious what your experience has been.

@@mikawallace9509I was born and raised as a witness and was an elder. Of course the people are nice but have no idea they’re in a cult until they decide to think differently or research the cult’s history and control mechanisms over the members. They begin to wake up and can no longer in good conscience be an active member. If you decide to leave the organization even without speaking against it, your friends and family will no longer speak to you. Those nice people that you knew your whole life will act like you don’t exist overnight. Any group doing this is a cult and uses thought control among other forms of control.

You 3 are correct. Cult is the root word in a few other words, such as cult-ure, agri-culture, cult-ivate. Originally the word didn't have a negative connotation. Like the word religion it came from a from a very similar Latin word in ancient pagan Roman. The Latin root word of religion in ancient Rome more or less meant "the values and beliefs of the people" but it was associated with fulfilling duties to the "gods." The Latin rooted word for cult more or less denoted an inherited or joined tradition and expression, practices in a religion. The words religion and worship have morphed in connotation from their original meaning and uses too. In our lifetime we have seen the word "marriage" morph in meaning, now connoting same sex couples. The words "man" and "woman" are changing in the Western World, too, such that wives with male genitals can impregnate their husbands who were born with a vagina and the sex cell egg. The word "human" may one day also connote horses 🐎 and wild Texas boars 🐗. When Americans start believing their automobiles 🚗 are boats ⛵ then we are going to see a lot more drowning victims. But do not worry! Politicians will resolve the problem by reminding us through public announcements, to wear your life vests in the car, then your seat belt. Then your bat 🦇 🍲 soup flu mask 😷.
