The proper spot to go into the DLC is probably outside of Malenia and Malekith's boss doors, without having triggered either the fight, specifically Malenia, as there will likely be dialogue from her if you beat the DLC before her, much like Sif in Dark Souls 1.

@@QueerBeetle this is bc the dlc has a sekiro like leveling system where u find Scadutree frags and turn them into a grace for either more damage or more defense so im guessing that it basically scales ur dmg down when u enter and as u find more and more Scadutree frags it just slowly unscales ur build back to normal which is why his endgame build didnt do well

​@@TimothyGodAssuming you're on PC press the windows button + R a "Run" window should pop up then type %APPDATA%, press enter and a folder should pop up (path should be "username/AppData/Roaming") then find the "EldenRing" folder, inside should be a folder with a random string of number for a name and inside you should find two files, one named ER0000.sl2 and ER0000.sl2.bak the sl2 contains ALL your current saves and characters and the other is the backup. Copy paste those files somewhere and you have your backup.

One thing to note that might mess up the scaling predictions are the supposed "other ways to get stronger" that I recall were mentioned during a press event. I admit that my memory of that event is pretty shaky so I barely remember it, but now that a few people have been given the chance to play the DLC for a few hours, I've heard some of them mention some items you can find in the open world of the Land of Shadow that give permanent damage or defense upgrades to the player as long as they are in the Land of Shadow itself. At least I'm pretty sure that's what they were describing... So it sounds like enemy scaling might actually get a lot higher than predicted, and the way to mitigate that is to explore the open world and collect these permanent upgrades. Kinda like the prayer beads in Sekiro? We'll have to wait and see how it's all going to work.

Yeah. Was surprised that didn't get brought up since Iron Pineapple's video was explicitly mentioned. And he mentioned the permanent stat buff consumables in there. So I imagine the DLC is probably going to have some wonky scaling compared to the base game because people are going to be getting a bunch of free base stats from the exploration rewards.

yeah vaatis vid confirmed that early in the dlc his endgame strong build was doing nothing and he found these frags in the open world (kinda spoilers but theyre frags of the big tree) and he could upgrade his defense and dmg but i dont think the scaling on enemies is crazy high cus that would just screw over ppl who arent late game i think instead it might be scaling down the player to the enemies lvls and slowly removing the downscaling as u get frags

All the people who were at the game's preview went through 2/3 named bosses, and this enemy was not one of them. The From tester that was close to the players said the one at the beginning was put there just to give an idea of difficulty and won't be there in the DLC.

I mean I've done a couple playthroughs, every time I've ended up pushing 120 by the time I do Morgott, which I do "last" of all the stuff you can do before him. I don't exactly grind, I like refighting bosses through being summoned, but, even my first playthrough where I didn't touch multi-player, I wasn't far off. I have no idea what I'm doing compared to everyone else, but every average level for whatever I've seen seems low. Are people just like, not spending runes?

They’re not holy, but the heat cloud effect deals damage repeatedly, similar to how holy water functions in Castlevania. Also, a shocking number of whips (ok, 2 of them) scale with Faith off the bat. Probably gonna get petal whip(s) tho.

12:15 Its called Furnace Golem 150 is definitely the way to go, its already the most optimal for hosting, co -op and invasions and considering only 10% of all those who have Elden Ring are on its reddit people are going to be at the level they are most comfortable with. The sheer amount of runes from picked up runes and boss rune multipliers will take you closer to 150 than 125. The scaling will definitely start at Haligtree scaling and midway the DLC would be probably Malenia scaling.

I already know what build I'm going into the DLC with. It's a build that I've used several times over. It's essentially my comfort build. On a fresh save, I'm going Strength with a small bit of Faith... Weapon: - Heavy Great Mace w/ Wild Strikes (Great Stars is technically better for the build, but Great Mace is prettier) Armor: - Greathelm - Scale Armor (Not Scaled) - Scaled Gauntlets - Scaled Greaves Talismans: - Warrior Jar Shard/Shard of Alexander - Milicent's Prosthesis - Winged Sword Insignia - Radagon's Soreseal/Dragon Greatshield Spells: - Golden Vow - Flame, Grant Me Strength - Bloodflame Blade Physik: - Faith-Knot Crystal Tear - Thorny Cracked Tear This is my defacto comfort build for any playthrough, both fresh and NG. I obviously drop the Faith-Knot for something else on NG+, when I can get my Faith higher through levels, but you only need 25 Fai (Including Faith-Knot) to pre-buff with Golden Vow. FGMS only needs 15, and BFB only needs 12. Otherwise, it's a very straight forward build. I'll probably also pick Godfrey's Talisman and Siluria's Tree. It's another comfort weapon.

Im playing my 501 lvl NG+6 on PS5 so i can use anything i want and have frustrating fun and im doing a low lvl playthrough on PC fresh, gonna be awesome!

I do think preparing 2 saves is a pretty good idea, but like you can respec around 17 times with just the base game larval tears, and who is to say there wont be more in the DLC. On top of that a bunch of new weapons will probably be infusable, so you can just tailor them to your build. Only the new somber weapons are the ones where you run the risk of not being able to use them. And again, you could respec for those.

Also with Godric's rune, The plus five stat boosting talismans and the soreseals, and a few other items, You can give up to like +18 in any stat, hopefully that's high enough for you to at least try most weapons and items in the DLC.

Another tip if you feel or worried you are over level that I haven’t heard anyone say is to respec and dump your levels into the stat you use least such as intelligence if you’re a melee build etc. You can really choose whatever level you want to be as long as it’s not higher

Never did I think that my first save that is ng+ that got screwed on bell bearings because I started it right before the update that transfers them over. While also already making a ng as well. I followed Rusty's advice before he even told me and I just feel relieved honestly lol

I like the part with beating mohg for this video but I don't think I can beat my verified method of cheesing mohg: Get yourself a blood infused weapon with Wild Strikes AOW, Summon Latenna on the enterance, run behind Mohg and start blending him, you should be able to kill him before he transitions to 2nd phase

Im still going with my ng+6 save file with rl 300 character. I think it will be fine cause i have multiple maxed out great weapons with diferent infusions so i can deal almoust every tipe of dmg. Its mainly a strength build, but i also lvled acr, faith and int as well as some dex just to match reqs of some weapons. Its just gonna be picking right weapon for right enemy, so yeah, i think i will be ok.
