This was a great episode. Such great freedom and hope given in the gospel

Perhaps one of the problems in preaching the gospels is that although Jesus puts alot of imperitives (do this and you will enter the kingdom) clearly when it comes to the indicatives (what God has done) we have to wait until post resurrection and pentecost to clearly understand these things (specifically in the epistles where indicatives and imperatives are the norm language and occur side by side \, ie It is God that works in you to both will and do according to His will). To preach the full gospel from the synoptics requires the interpretation from the epistles otherwise it gets confusing. Only in this way can you begin to understand when Jesus demands a persons willingness to be crucified as a imperitive to following him and Paul declaring that a person has been 'already crucified with Christ"as an indicitive. The application therefore being I no longer have to be willing to be crucified as a means to enter the kingdom because in Christ I have already been crucified and are already in the kingdom. Bottom line, when Jesus says in the gospels come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest, it is indeed an invitation out of legalism but one has to wait post resurrection and pentecost for a complete understanding of what He was pointing too. In other words, the epistles are needed to interpret the gospels properly for the edification of the contemporary church.

Is there power to obey in the Gospel that flows from what Christ has accomplished? I assume you will answer yes and that we can take that to the bank and rest in the works of Christ, in both justification and sanctification. In our sanctification seems to be the rub, are we trying to avoid certain language that would indicate that we somehow are trying to add to Christs works? I see agreement until this point, this is where most of the confusion and concerns seem to be. We know we are Changing by the power of the Spirit who dwells in the believers. What seems odd is that we are arguing that it is wrong to believe we can strive to obey the law in a new power. That to love God although a command we still can not do properly, we can do increasingly more as the Spirit enables with the means of Grace. We still all agree all Glory Goes to God, even though we have the tendency to want to take some of the glory for our selves. We do realize we are not sinless but we are not what we once were, we are new creations being transformed a work of God for sure that God still commands and promises to complete in us despite are pathetic efforts and yet not without either. Like a child that’s more of a hindrance than a help, but as father’s we look at the heart and so does God. We all hope to hear well done good and faithful servant one day .

Acts 13:38-39 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Galatians 2:16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Galatians 3:11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:24-25 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 4:2-5 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. are we justified or not ! if we are ,than why even talk about something we are justified from !!

The problem is not everyone agrees with your law-gospel distinction. It's not the only way to understand the New Testament, no matter how good it feels for you to believe it.

@@bad_covfefe No, the real problem here is that not everyone agrees with your anathemitization of those of us who do not venerate icons. Find somewhere else to troll.
