How totally different these dialogs can be... I wondered why I never saw this, at first... but of course. I had warned Aylin so that she was there, Rolan was there, too. I kinda wish I could have seen the scene with the apple like here... on the other hand, I did what my character would have done and it was rewarding in its own way.

I did the version you said first too because it made sense, but in the comments people said that Aylin had broken the paladin's oath and that's why she says what she says, so I thought I'd try another way and see what happened.

Imo best option is still to just bring the Nightsong to him and let the Nightsong bane him!

Knowing that Aylin breaks her oath if she kills the scoundrel that is Lorroakan, I think now I prefer to deal with it without her. But the best part of this game is playing as you like and seeing her wiping the shit of Lorroakan is very satisfying. Especially in the case of Astarion and Karlach, who are out for revenge.
