Had to deal with him as Vampire Coast myself... he had 115% missile resist 😂 Didn't help him too much with Rotting Prometheans and a Vampire Lord

I see so many people say they try Ikit and can't get him to work, and I'm certain that's 90% down to Morghur starting next to him.

@@nonesuch6833 Morghur, at least for my experience in VH/VH setting, is fairly easy to establish some treaties. And since both factions serve the chaos, it makes so much sense to befriend him in the early game.

I have a fish called Khazrak.. because it has one eye. Maybe I need a Morghur too. Not sure what distinguishing feature it should have though? I don't want a fish that collects skulls!

I think you are better off with Taurox or Malagor. Morghur would be a disfigured monstrocity with tumors.

Morghur is always my first hurdle as Ikit. His massive resistance to ranged coupled with being able to kill any Skaven in melee that early in the game is a real pain.

My advice is to either rush him down early on by saving your nuke and try and army loss him with that - maybe make him eat a trash army in auto-resolve first - or try and get a NAP off him and just ignore him until the mid-game when you should be able to crush anything.

@@nonesuch6833 just fight him with ikit claw in battle and let the rest of your army win it, I always fight morghur first after estalia but I was already on a doom flayer so I even got bonus vs infantry

You can choose to not fight him in the early game and come back to him later. Join a war or two and let him keep his starting province and he will be your shield and occional ally against Bretonnia.

@@giantnerd14 If you want to avoid him, you can try to join a few wars to sign a non-agreesion pact as soon as you saw him. But if you find it fun to challenge yourself by facing him early, you should play the way that brings you most joy.

Something I feel people forget a lot when facing morghur is that he’s not by default unbreakable. Ergo forget fighting him directly and route his army. Y’know the anti-Vlad Von Carstien strat.

Generally needs you to have a decent single entity to tarpit him with, but that is generally my go to strategy when playing Dawi or Bretonian armies. Just task a thane or paladin to keep him occupied and likely outright kill him

Very interesting to watch a badly hurt force like this one...just go at the Herdstone garrison with a healthy amount of confidence. Madness (I fear Bestigor Herds and Centigors more than most, so for me this was a little bonkers to witness) 21:05 curious, what ARE the optimal sorts of armies for the job then--the "Anti-Herdstone Angencies", so to speak?

I would think Ironbreakers, with organ guns, trollhammer torpedo, irondrakes. Lots of anti-large, lots of holding power, and lots of ability to deal with large groups/clumps. For skaven? Maybe Throts big rat stack? Yeah, I see how Ikit might have issues with Morghur.

He's almost always my first target as Ikit, and I usually bait him with my doomflayers to kite him around while I kill his forces, then I focus fire him the moment his moral breaks to make sure he is dead

Without the ambush this probably would have been an autoresolve win. Morghur's big weakness is autoresolve because it doesn't account for his damage aura. Autoresolve him and he goes down like a chump.

Hey ✌ Was wondering about 12:25 on how he could tell (from the display of"crushing defeat"?) that the balance of power is in his favor?

If I remember properly, you can only a get a heroic victory or a crushing defeat if the odds are disproportionnate to begin with (at equivalent strenght levels you can only a get a "decisive" one either way)

You Can have a crushing defeat only if the balance of power is in you re favor in the first place. It's the reverse of heroic victory

I usually just let him take out all my starting enemy settlements except Tobaro, while I take out the random empire faction and Aranessa. By then you should have Skavenblight at or near t3. Upgrade the unique building and build the purple artillery building. Recruit Jezzails, Ratlings, Warpfire Throwers, and some Catapults, then go erase the Beastmen from that peninsula.

How can the player have Raknik at level 1 if he can already recruit arachnarok? When I play greenskins I prioritize to build the boss camp when a province capital reach tier 4 to have +1 recruit rank for generals. So by the time I'd go to Estalia I could recruit Raknik at least at level 10. Did the devs remove that global bonus?

@@michaelfetter4541 The boss camp building chain has the same effect it used to be in WH2, I just checked. There are builiding with positive bonus and there are buildings with no impact, they just unlock certain units. It is highly inefficient to not build greenskins advanced military buildings (Sacred spider groundz is a basic military one) which have awesome effects and the camp at tier 4. A player of course can do whatever he wants, but in a war strategy game bad choices lead to defeats. And I never suffered one playing as Broken Axe.

I know that Legend says to not say "that didn't look like a disaster battle at all", but this one really didn't. There was nothing exceptionally tactical Legend did during the ambush fight, and the units didn't receive too much damage. It does kind of feel like Legend said, the person saw the autoresolve option and panicked

ive never seen beastmen ai field more than one stack in my hundreds of hours. beastmen AI factions do really poorly in campaign.

I've seen some variance. often the minor ones just seem to die out while the major ones harmlessly lurk around their starting area but on the rare occation that the major factions actually take a settlement and set up a Herdstone I've seen them become absolute nightmares. I've seen Khazrak (Morghur fairly consistantly from what I saw in game 2 but I've seen Khazrak do the same in IE a few times) manage to basically wipe out the western half of the Empire (with Vampires, Festus, and Drycha warring over the east), Taurox cause devastation throughout the middle regions of Naggaroth, and Malagor singlehandedly ruining the badlands before heading south and stalemating against Skarbrand (who he normally would've been allied with up until that point). only major Beastman AI faction that I just never see much from is the one that starts in Estalia (Khazrak in game 2, Morghur in game 3. Khazrak definitely seemed to do better back then than Morghur does now). they just seem to kinda sit there raiding and not doing anything (sometimes *very* rarely making a Herdstone in one of the minor settlements before just sitting in it doing nothing). they don't even get wiped out early, the Brettonians, Wood Elves, and High Elves never expand far enough to care about them and the Skaven tolerate them.... lore accurate Beastmen for the win I guess? minor nusance that nobody really properly deals with that just raids and raids without doing any real damage. admittedly, even when I see the AI Beastmen dominating in their area I have never seen them pull out a second army. it'll just be their Legendary Lord laying waste to an area and their ritual of ruination making sure that other armies can't just take back the ruins. I do notice that my experience of which AI factions do well does differ a lot from other players. probably because I mainly play Undead and Chaos factions (compared to most playing High Elves and "good" humans) meaning that there are different faction potentials in place and also I play on easy/easy with occational ventures up into normal/normal.

legend: crushing defeat. Balance of power is in our favour. ?????? legend then proceeds to win the battle. The spider doomstack was the go to superstack for greenskins in wh2, so it's understandable the player used it. CA seem to have nerfed doomstacks to an extent in wh3; even legends basic archer 'doomstacks' got a downgrade in the damage archers can do.
