it can be one of the most frustrating
things to see an important text message
or notification on your iPhone hours
after the fact because you never got an
alert.
if your iPhone or iPad for that
matter has stopped sending you
notifications and alerts don't worry in
this video we're gonna look at some ways
to fix your notification issues.
if you've owned an iPhone for a while I'm
sure you're familiar with the mute switch on the side of the device but just make sure it's not on this will keep notifications from sounding off
when they come in by default the iPhone
will still vibrate if the mute switch is
on but you can change that if you need
to and the sounds and haptic section of
the Settings app
in iOS 12 Apple introduced a useful option to have
notifications delivered quietly you can
swipe left on a notification tap manage
and select the option if you want
it's good for not being bothered by apps you
don't want to get notifications from but
still want to see when you dig in a Notification Center
if you're running iOS 12 you may have activated this
option on accident to check swipe left
of a notification and tap manage
if deliver quietly is already on you will
see an option to deliver prominently
select this option and the app will
start sending you alerts again when
notifications come through
if you could have sworn you saw a notification come
in but can't find it scrolling through
Notification Center it might be hiding
in a stack
In iOS 12 Apple also introduced group notifications you can tap on a stack to make it expand and get
to the other notifications
another thing to check is to make sure you didn't
accidentally turn on do not disturb
this can be toggled on and off in control
center with just a tap and if it's
toggled on you won't get any of your
notifications

Turn of the notifications for messages app in settings>notifications>messages Then hard reset ur phone Hold home button and power button for 10 seconds . Ur phone will restart Then switch on the notification for messages in settings>notifications>messages

This is what I did. Go to 1:10 >>> do what he did. Go to manage, then settings. When your in settings there should be an option that says “badges” if it’s off, tap it. Then you should see the messages.

by far the most annoying this (at least one) is that the apple mail app does not automatically push the mail. i obviously have the gmail app because that one is great and does it automatically. but i also have a nongmail email account that can only be used with the apple mail app. honestly just it's such a whole debacle trying to manage that email account. i have literally missed appointments because of the emails not coming up AT ALL. i have tried change the settings so many times to fetch, push, whatever, no luck. it is terrible. i wouldn't be surprised if they are losing people to gmail etc. smh also, background app refresh isn't even appearing as an option for apple mail app.

ok, so in my case i had set Do Not Disturb under Notifications and sounds in the Messenger app (profile icon top left) APPARENTLY this applies to all your iPhone devices (that are logged on) and i thought it applies only on that device you set DND on. stupid!
