Interesting video Gabby! Golf requires so much daily practice and play to become a great ball striker. There are so many undulations to course architecture that one can never understand too much about ball striking. I find I need to play under pressure regularly in order to become consistent. Practice what I do well and manage my ball away from situations I do poorly in. If you can miss well your 3/4 of the way home to better scores. Next you have to spin the ball well to control trajectory and roll out. Lastly you have to have touch around the greens and on the greens. It’s truly a pleasure watching you adjust your swing as gain experience as a player 🫵😎

Going to try this at the range tomorrow! I am playing 80% the most consistent golf of my life but missing greens to the left all of the time, and it seems to be exaggerated with higher loft clubs.

Thank you, thank you! Came to KZbin today just for this short lesson! Shot the round of my life time this past weekend but was pulling all of iron shots. Luckily I didn't need to hit that many irons that day and finished with a 1 under. I was getting too shallow and shutting the face as well! Hopefully some straighter shots are due up for my tournament this Saturday!

I have a consistent pull on my drives which I attribute to me being a natural left-hander who golfs with right-handed clubs. Also, when my shoulder muscles tire I develop a slice. I solved the pulling problem by placing my trailing foot half a foot-length behind my forward foot and the slice problem goes away as the season progresses because my shoulder muscles eventually get back in shape.
@stephenbender7593 Жыл бұрын
Hogan did that.

Yupe early release is the reason for pull hook - and your method works similarly with being aware and taking lead shoulder upward instead of around early

I feel that too! I have a nasty iron hook that I fixed by “pushing” my hands out. As you said with a shallow shot the tenancy is to close the face. Great drill and tip!
@generationzfinance11 ай бұрын
Pretty much exactly what I did, practiced over exaggerating my finish to make it feel like the club face was pointing at the sky post contact. Imo a lot of people hook cause they turnover too much through the ball

I will try this, also with me I feel I get a bit to quick with my down swing which causes me to turn my hands over which leads to a pull or hook.

One problem I have and I've heard from others that the pull often comes when we are trying to add a little extra power in our swing, "kill the sucker." That probably results in the "super, over the top" This drill can help us address this by not trying to play out of control.
@gabbygolfgirl Жыл бұрын
It’s not the power. It’s that the over swinging can cause you to fall back, hit the outside of the ball. Throw timing off. But you can also have those issues with normal speed

And reason #3 - your lower body moves more slowly causing the hands to outrace them causing a pull or pull hook... Clear the left hip earlier or faster and continue moving it out of the way to finish

I get insane loft with great distances 8/10 swings. Obviously I’m cutting under the ball. But man I can get dead on with an 8 & 9 iron at 200 yards. And the ball will disappear in the sky and land 4-5 seconds later on the green. A lot of Par 3’s start as a “Hahaha and end up with a birdie mother plucker! You owe me!”

@@gabbygolfgirl It was closed club face… I got a lesson from a pro at my club and we tweaked my take away a bit - now I’m drawing the ball with an open club face. 🤣 Just have to get used to the “feel” of an over the top swing that’s actually pretty level. Striping the ball though so overall happy. Appreciate the thought that led me to the Pro. 👍🏼

the biggest secret is: when the address plane and the impact plane are the same then it's pendulum(never swinging around the golf course) everything is going in a straight line at the target. Nothing to indicate going crooked whether that's left or right.
