Crispy Cracklin Cornbread Ingredients:
2 cups Cornmeal Mix
1 1/4 cups whole milk
2 tablespoons Buttermilk Powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup butter, divided (salted or unsalted)
1 1/4 cup crackling, crushed and divided
Honey Butter:
Combine Honey and Butter. Be sure to slightly heat it for a silky smooth finish.
NOTE: Using a cast iron skillet works best. You can use 1 1/4 cups buttermilk instead of the milk and buttermilk powder

I was looking for a channel to help with my remedial cookies abilities. When you say 2 ingredients, you honour that. You are honest, and I understand your instruction well. I am both excited, and fearful of attempting any baking tasks; could work out though. I will give you an update. I truly enjoy and appreciate your talents and instruction. cheers, Ontario Canada!

My family loves corn bread! I have been making a modified version of Jamaican corn bread for over 40 years. I changed the recipe to 1 orange squeezed instead of pineapple, grate the orange peal into the mix too, and I use clover honey instead of sugar. It's wonderful with soups, chili, and a southern chicken dinner. Oh, and I bake it in a cast iron skillet . 😊

Grandma made her own cracklin' when I was a kid-o. But she was also what people refer to as 'Off Grid'. Very little came from a grocery. Mostly the bear essential basics. Milled grains, sugar, pectin, dried fruits, nuts. She still orderd things like mason jars & lids from the Sears catalog. Everything else was home grown or traded for with a few local people. I Honestly was unaware you could buy pre-made cracklin' ! Miss my gram. & her cooking. Wish i had retained more information when cooking with her as a kid. She didn't have to many hand written recipes. Thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you for sharing your light. 🙏HE definitely shines through all you do 🙌

My mama Always made Crackling Cornbread. Of course she knew how take homemade Cornbread but later settled on Jiffy. I have a preference for Jiffy because I love the sweetness and ease. As for the Cracklings... she would put them in a small pot with just enough water to cover them and let them boil until soft. When cooled... she would add them to the Jiffy batter with an egg and vegetable Oil instead of milk as she was allergic to dairy. The. Cracklings would be Soft and Chewy and Delicous. I make it often. It is Delicious with Greens (Collards and/or Turnips). Thank you for Sharing your recipe ❤❤❤❤❤
