I think about this more than a bit. what I've also figured out is that often my fish (the fish I'm sitting on) shut down when some boater comes blasting in or OUT of the area. sound is a wave. wakes are also waves/pressure waves. all of that stuff gets fish on higher alert. but most boaters, trying to be competitive, etc, just don't seem to want to care a bit. noise, wakes can be controlled. for your success and for the common courtesy that should extend to others. Not to mention shoreline erosion...

I quit worrying about noise when I fished around the 4th of July this year, had no idea there was a mass fireworks show on Lake Tansi , thought I was in a war zone, people swimming, boats driving around , compression bombs going off , place was lit up like a christmas tree , had one of my best nights , think I got 12 in a couple hours , I couldn't believe it

sounds does travel .. your gopro down in 90feet of water was attached to some kind of cord wire etc .. which I'm sure helped amplify sound . like a two cans with a string ..

The cable certainly must have helped transfer the sound.
