There's nothing more fun on the pickleball court then attacking and winning the point. But what about those opponents that have great counter attack or reset capabilities? As you get better and climb levels you're sure to face them. In this video we cover what you should do against them...

As you move up in levels, you'll start to notice that often if you're the one attacking first, you will lose the point.
This happens because developed players have very strong counter attacking and blocking capabilities.
And they can take your attacks, that are often just a little to high because you attacked from a low contact point and make you eat it.
They will take your pace and jam it right back down your throat, that's what it feels like any way, but in reality it looks a lot more like hitting it towards your lower body which is then very difficult to defend.
Or, they will reset it beautifully into the kitchen seemingly every time and you'll have to start your setup all over again.
Theirs a specific reason this happens and there's also definitely something you can to about it.
In this video, we'll talk about a skill that you can add to your arsenal that will make it very difficult for you opponents to know what's coming when you attack.
Keeping them guessing is the key because they all your attacks will be more effective. If they don't know your going to do Plan A or Plan B then you're more than half way there towards winning the point.
Do this often enough in a match and you're almost sure to win.

This is a very subtle lesson for most including me. A set up to induce opponent to hit high, then the kill shot where placement trumps power. Thanks for the free lesson. l'll work in it.

Jordan, I think the message here is you should not attack unless you can hit the ball with a downward trajectory. Level shots usually get returned by better players. Dom

Hey Jordan/Nicole, any advice on what to do if I am popping the ball up when I attempt to block a fast shot coming at me? Would my paddle face be too open? Thanks!

That could be, or maybe your grip pressure is too tight. We have a video on blocking too, check it out!

I have never found Jordan's narration too slow or without emphasis. These are instructional videos presented at a pace that allows the viewer to readily absorb the lesson points. Please, Jordan, just keep on doing what you're doing. I feel I get just a little bit better with every video both you and Nicole produce.@@primetimepickleball
