Watching this kept me on on the edge of my seat the whole run but he never failed any of the counters, huh and they said in the demo that LS will be weak in full game, hold that thought as local Italian LS king reigns the fastest speedrun category for anime weapons. Huh who said LS was weak in the demo? When it first came out, helm splitter was bugged and did insane damage, hence #1 mizu speedrun times. When the magnamalo demo came out, LS again had the fastest speedrun times.

Hence my point stays valid. Unless you are trolling i don't know what you and him are trying to prove. Hi. I haven't played MH since Gen (skipped MHW because I couldn't play it), but I will have MHR and a NS in about 2 days. So I am trying to get used to the new playstyles, and it seems there that the LS special moves which were used had invulnerablity of some sort. Or is it because Peppo is so good that he can hit while legit evading every hitbox ? Need some help here hahaha. Anyway, impressive work. It seems the old TDS never stops from breaking down this franchise, that is some skills and dedication.

See that's why Sakura slash is bad. It isn't bad in the right hands; although it is far less dps than helm splitter. But in turn, it allows you space to abuse the l2+a ability, which is an invincible counter that does alot of damage. Despite this, you still shouldn't neglect Lai slash or foresight slash. The reason why Sakura slash is bad is because it gives newbies an easy way to not understand the longsword or what it can really do.

The recharge rate on the bug is extremely slow, so your DPS suffers, since you can't even really use Serene Pose for another 10+ seconds after using it. It's a complete meme of a silkbind move. I'm guessing it was meant to be if you wanted to play LS like back in MH3U? Only advantage it really has is that its hitboxes aren't as jank as Helmbreaker's. LS got some really good switch skills, but goddamn Sakura Slash sucks ass.

@@nafeesr6377 play how you want. Its less dps but honestly getting free gauge to spam serene pose feels good. Otherwise you're spending a silkbug plus a gauge with helmsplitter. Helm splitter is more dps, and it will make your hunts longer to use the alternative, but it's more important to play with what you're comfortable with. Whatever you do, do NOT spam Sakura slash at red. Spam spirit combo, foresight slash, Lai slash, anything but spamming Sakura slash. While you're red, and you have 2 silk bugs, use serene pose to spend it. Then do a spirit combo or Sakura slash to get red back and repeat serene pose when you get 2 silkbugs. Repeat this whole pattern and you'll still do respectable dps. Less than helm splitter but still good enough. Try to practice with foresight slash and Lai slash. Foresight slash has a much more forgiving counter window than Lai slash, but Lai slash does more damage. You can also follow into a spirit combo or a helm splitter if have that equipped from a successful Lai slash. Foresight slash only allows you to follow into the end of a spirit combo, but an instant red is instant red. One more thing Max affinity to the best you can, and make sure to grab those rajang legs for crit boost. And another, slot in 3 quick sheathe. Just make it happen. 3 quick sheathe allows you to really get off Lai slash counters.

@@nafeesr6377 btw serene pose is left bottom trigger plus A. It's basically invincibility, if a monster touches you from the front you're gonna slam it for 100s of damage. It's super expensive, taking 2 bugs and a 1 gauge, but with Sakura slash it makes sense to use it. Don't use it unless you have red gauge. Does less damage with yellow or white gauge.

What you mean by forgiving is "it now has more s", and yeah that's true. Back in Iceborne you only had 13 s and after those, you had 2 seconds of hyper armor. Now you don't have hyper armor anymore, so if you get hit after the Iai Spirit Slash you take full damage and reaction to the hit, but you have more s so you can completely evade the attack, and not just absorb it. However, the main question is the bugs that rotate around this mechanic: Iai spirit slash doesn't always properly activate s, sometimes you connect it but you don't get the 3 hits afterward, sometimes you connect it activating the s and hitting the monster, but you don't level up the gauge. I hope Capcom will manage to fix these issues in the future before Rise kicks in on PC because afterward these issues will be easily fixed by using mods, even though I would really like Capcom to fix those, not modders.

It is my third main so anyone feel free to correct me if iam wrong. Imo i wouldn't say easier as the frames of invincibility are same and fragile. However you could say it is easier in a manner that if you fail it, it no longer costs you a spirit gauge level as it did in MHWI. Which is why it was high risk good reward. Additionally in Rise if you do the counter successfully then you gain spirit gauge level which is a good buff to the point where it encourages us to apply it in our casual hunts. No longer only for god tier speedrunners in that regard.

Feeling sorry for Rajang, and also sorry for my self chosing Lance as it's by far the weakest weapon in Rise, the same time Longsword deals damage takes me at least 3 times as long to do the same with Lance. Hope they improve it a lot in sunbreak and finally add Jousting on your Palamute given its seemingly taking place on the European Continent. Greatly enjoying dual blades as well but didn't get to trying Bow (won't be playing all weapons though). Also missed TDS, as I didn't want spoilers in Rise given my limited play time, but I can re-sub again now (subscribed again).

How's the Control of MH Rise on Switch? Is it clunky? Or it's feels the same as MH World? Or maybe it's kinda a marriage between MH World control and MH Generation control?

The control feeling is awful IMO. Inputs are not always recognized immediately and sometimes, for example when you're in the special sheath, some inputs are not recognized at all (ZR to perform Iai Spirit Slash). I don't know if this is Rise's fault or Switch's one, what I know is that on Ps4 or PC I never had these issues. Movements are not clunky, they definitely feel more like World rather than Generation.
