Its because GnR was considered almost punk back then and a little metal by the mainstream. In other words people didnt know what the hell GnR were then. The people that made the documentary dont know the difference, I could tell the difference back then though GnR were really hardcore and different unto themselves.Swearing wasnt common in music and they swore a LOT ah good times

Yeah, Axyl is priceless. G nRs only worthwhile album was appetite, and it was brilliant. Then they totally sold out, became more corporate than Maiden ever was. Then Axyl sacked the rest of the band, and now takes 15 years to release an album. Even Buckethead left him!

He's not saying that only Iron Maiden are, he's saying that that's what bands are in general, and that Maiden's political stance has nothing to do with rock n roll. He's completely right, however I don't really care. Maiden aren't a rock n roll band, they're "epic" metal, which is a different genre. I love GnR and Maiden for different reasons.

Axl isn't saying Maiden are a 'Political' band..he is saying that musically & ideologically he considers them to be very different to G N' R. So even though he likes them as people, he has no interest in their musical style or lifestyle.
