7 years vegan Thinking about retiring in Arequipa. We are traveling for the next 4-5 years between Mexico and Argentina in search of our favorite cool weather city. Currently in Guatemala, the third country in Central America we have lived in. What do you think….good retirement city ?

First of all I love your name, I have a tattoo that says “there is so much more”. Especially if you like cook weather, I’d recommend Armenia, Colombia. It’s a nice laidback city, the safest city in Colombia with a population of about 400,000. Weather isn’t cold but isn’t hot, it’s right in between. It’s in the heart of the coffee region, and there are some great vegan restaurants. My apartment had a nice mountain view. Check out my Armenia vlog as well

I would assume so but I don't know anything about their health insurance. There is a website called numbeo which breaks down all categories of the cost of living in different cities.

if u have an insurer that will cover u out of country u will be fine. the private clinics are up to date & efficient. Peruvians & ppl with work visas use EsSalud, which is public health, but those that can afford private care do so.
