Aretha was untouchable in this era! Her interpretation and style was and still is hard to replicate or copy. She employed melisma effortlessly and in synch with the song's mood. Who else can "stammer" a song and sound as good as a Aretha?...No one! Aretha, you were the true vessel that delivered human emotions in a song that not many of your peers past and present could deliver! Forever our Queen of Soul 🙏

There were quite a few of my coworkers that were included in that number of troops going overseas. This song, Call me was playing, many tears flowing, leaving behind loved ones, some had children who have not started school yet. I’m trusting all made it back save and sound to see their loved ones one more time.

Mourn the love, but live in joy, remember her of course, her words, her laugh, even find yourself doing some of the things she did and I laugh about that. Momma told me, when I was a teen, remember GOD loves you even if nobody don’t. That was the best advice she ever gave me because I found that out in this life. GOD is my strength, my joy, my love, because men come and they go, the children love, and don’t really know, but the true lover of the soul is the LORD GOD, be encouraged. John 3 and John chapters 14 thru 17, read it all, and when the LORD finished ministering this to me, I been fine ever since. Be blessed.
