I'd heard Lulu's "Oh, Me Oh, My (I'm a Fool For You" & then this came up next. While Sammy & Aretha get props, the backup singers are ignored. If there weren't any, the piece wouldn't be as full & rich. I'm a lead vocalist, soloist & envious of those who have such tight harmony that goosebumps hit from head to toe, deserving massive accolades. In various rehearsals, I think I finally am there when I am told I am doing 2nd alto *with* the other 2nd alto. When in choir practices, the music is in hand as my eyes see the notes making harmony. No problems. It may be an odd analogy but it reminds me of football in junior/senior high school, especially home games. The air was already crackling in the morning as we'd stomp one foot, then the other, repeating trying to get warm. I wore a heavier sweater jacket while others, actual coats. The waves of green & white included the letter jackets the players wore, some showed their chivalrous actions leaving the girls as if in a burrow.
