You are not alone! I have been a devoted fan, collector for 53 years! There has never been another #1 once I heard that voice! Even when you love , revere and respect someone like that for so long, losing them ( even only as a fan) can be devastating! Reliving memories and her music keeps her all alive in my heart. Aretha franklin, toni braxton, and anita baker are a few great singers that mastered their lower register as well as singing in high keys and hitting Big notes.

Torrey Green I disagree. Even though their natural voices are deep compared to most women, they have a wider range on the vocal scale, that includes going even lower in their register. Toni can dip to notes that sounds like a low whisper and then scale all the way up to mezzo-soprano. That's impressive.
