Argentina is of particular interest to me right now. I'm curious what costs are like outside of Buenos Aires. If Milei can stop their 80-year overspending spree, I think the country holds huge potential.

I was there for 10 months last year, it was even more affordable. No trip to Argentina is complete without going to Patagonia, pricy but its unbelievably beautiful and the people are Awesome. Try out Cordoba, as well -the Sierras are cool and very affordable. Must try craft beer! I'll be heading back myself in October - enjoy!

Great well made, well covered video. Prices definitely higher than Laos but not as high as Singapore which is even higher than my home state of New York. Much safer there than in New York now, crime and lawlessness is rampant.

I just read in the NYT that Argentina was in a state of total chaos because of the new president's austerity measures, prices going through the roof, people leaving the country in droves, etc. None of that unrest is evident in this video.

Chaos? Nope. But prices in ARG$ are going through the roof (Not in US$, that's why is "cheap" for foreigners). There's lots of people struggling to make ends meet on a daily basis, not only low but middle income families too. Tourists don't typically visit slums (and generally those are guided tours for security reasons) or low income areas. Lots of people leaving the country (mostly middle class) and also lots choosing to stay.

Great vlog. Sounds like BA is wonderful. Two questions. Do you speak Spanish? If not, how difficult is it to communicate? Two, what about Argentinian inflation? Do you use Western Union for currency exchange, and how difficult is it to convert money? I have read that you should use cash and not credit cards. Finally, have you watched any video by Samual and Audrey? I think that's their youtube channel name. They are a young Canadian couple restoring a hotel in Argentina, and they have lots of Argentina vlogs. Keep making those great vlogs.

You might take the Buquebus high speed ferry from BA to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. It's about 1.5 hrs away. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also, a river cruise on the Tigre River. We enjoyed both. We were in Buenos Aires and Uruguay 15+ years ago. Montevideo was ok, too. We never got to the wire region of Mendoza. But, it's suppose to be lovely. Enjoy the empanadas!

Hello, how are you, I tell you, the river that is on the coast is called the Rio de la Plata, and it is the widest river in the world, here in Buenos Aires, crossing the river, this Colonia del Sacramento (Uruguay) is 60 kilometers wide, but Its maximum width is between Punta Rasa (province of Buenos Aires) and Punta del Este (Uruguay) with 219 kilometers wide.

Can you do a video on visa management? For example, is it feasible to spend a month in Thailand, then bus to Phenom Phen and stay there a month, and then go to Vietnam for a month, and then back to Bangkok, and so forth endlessly? Or is there a better way to get around the visa restrictions? On these videos I keep hearing about people who stayed in Thailand or Cambodia for years and wonder how they did it.
@RetireandGo9 ай бұрын
Good idea I’m using only arrival visas Some are quite long ! Thank you for all suggestions

@@RetireandGo To me, this visa thing is the biggest obstacle for expat life. I've been to Thailand many times but having to do visa runs every month was a major pain. It never occurred to me that I could take a bus for $30 to Cambodia and live there for a month instead of going right back to BKK after my visa was renewed.

As commented before, Argentina has on of the highest inflation rates in the world. It was caused by the governments of the past 22 years. The new government is on the right track, but it will take some time. You cannot undo 22 years of disastrous economics in a short time. The city looks great. Many of the residents in the areas that you show are upper middle class and higher. Go outside to the province of BA and you will see the disasters that the press talks about. The press generalizes and whomever writes the article does not know what they are talking about. If you want to accurately describe your surroundings, you should mention the name of the neighborhood. Belgrado, Recoleta, Palermo, La Boca, etc. Are some of the most popular. You need to identify the neighborhood to be accurate. I know the food is great, but you have limited yourself to meat. Did you know that the pizzas and Italian food are great in Argentina?
