Forbidden rice is awesome! It’s naturally purple, delicious, and loaded with antioxidants. The purple is anthocyanins, the same antioxidants found in blackberries and blueberries.

"Forbidden rice" or purple rice, is actually used to make desserts most of the time but is wonderful used in other ways as well. It was served to the emperor exclusively and forbidden for commoners.

Awesome video!!! Thank you, you should be the official spokesman for the Aria buffet. I made the mistake of watching this before eating breakfast and now I’m voraciously hungry and nowhere near Vegas :( Dim sum primer: “pork bun” = bao (pronounced “bow”) usually steamed like yours were but can also be baked. Typically filled w pork (char shiu). Not my favorite but I’ll admit yours looked tasty w a generous amount of filling. har gow = shrimp dumplings, my favorite! Most people prefer the wrapping to be thin rather than thick and chewy, and the more shrimp the better. Man oh man - loved the dim sum bar, oyster bar, sugar-free desserts (yes!), and even the unusual pancake bar.

WOW I'm stunned that's the Aria. I can't get over what a MESS it is near most of the food. Most buffets, esp in Vegas, are meticulous about keeping it clean. Maybe it's me, but if it's that big a mess out front, I wonder how clean the kitchen is?? While I appreciate the video, I think this talked me out of checking this one out (and it was on my get to list). There are just too many good choices in Vegas!

After living here in Vegas for quite a while...I must say that these buffets are becoming worse and worse every single year...I personally haven't gone to the Aria one but I have gone to Bachannals, Rio's, Wynn's, RedRock's, Belagio's and a couple more...The problem with them all is the continuous price increase AND inconsistence...I dont mind paying more for more or better quality but this is not the case...One day you go and have a BLAST with good choices and quality...then you go again and its a HUGE let down...On Dec 19 2017, I went for the first time to the Wicked Spoon for dinner $53.99 PP which for 2 plus taxes and tip wetn up to $140ish, and man I had the BIGGEST disappointment that I have ever had in a buffet. Selection of food was very VERY limited. No oysters, no clams, no shrimps, no fish, no salmon, (ONLY seafood available was crab legs hot/cold and like a made to order station like the one on this video where you could choose between 2 different seafood plates and that was it), no dumplings, no pork buns, no indian food, no burgers, no signature crab meat/cheese omelette, no flan, no creme brulee...Even the Feast Buffet which is 5 min from home and WAYYY cheaper has more variety...I would say that if you want good quality and huge selection, spend the money on Bachannals Buffet which is the one that I have found that is very consistent day to day with quality and variety. Well, now that I let it all out hahaha...GREAT reviews and videos...keep up the good work and I would like to see more good Local Spots around the city! Happy New Year!

Totally agree, buffets are drastically falling in quality while price is increasing. 90% of these buffets just have a bunch of garbage dishes, salad bars are shit and don't even have sprouts or cherry tomatoes, desserts are far more limited and are filled with low quality items like cookies or crappy bread/pastry items if not completely filled with such trash items. 30-50 dollars for the majority of these buffets are absolute scams. The M buffet used to be amazing but now its totally hit or miss. Sunset station was even not that bad a few years ago but now is absolute trash. I find the Belagio, Rio, and Silverton buffets are usually pretty decent. I think people need to start remembering they can ask to check out the buffet before paying. But I get how it's still a waste of time to go all the way there even if you don't pay. The Mirage and Mandalay Bay buffets actually get me physically upset at how much of a fucking shithole and scam they are.

I read an article somewhere on Buffets and I remember the guy (who had been to many buffets!) mentioned that these places TRY so make you fill up your stomach on Bread rolls, soups, and various salads BEFORE you get to the expensive meat & seafood sections... good to always keep in mind if you're like me and get full after 2 plates!!! :)
