Jimmy Fallon definitely has his favorites, and Ariana Grande is definitely one of them. Jimmy is a huge fan of music in general and an advocate for giving a platform to both new and talented musical artist(which is why he got the greatest late night band with The Roots), its also why people like Ariana are a constant favorite to have on the show, she's just talented and not to mention a sweetheart (plus actually funny). Another person he has on a lot is Justin Timberlake lol, now THATS Fallon's BFF for sure 😂😂😂.

I think she was sick or her voice was just raspy. She was probably emotional after pete's suicidal tweet that was later deletes after a few minutes, plus what this song is about, from her second recent ex boyfriend (Aka Malcolm) who sadly passes away. The reason why she's always on Jimmy's show, is because she lives in New york, and Jimmy's show is in New york also. So, it's right in her state, so she goes there more often.
