Ariane 6 launch animation

Animation of the first launch of the Ariane 6 rocket with two boosters.
Ariane 6 is an all-new design, created to succeed Ariane 5 as Europe's heavy-lift launch system. With Ariane 6's upper stage and its reignitable Vinci engine, Europe's launch capability will be tailored to the needs of multiple payloads, for example to orbit satellite constellations. This autonomous capability to reach Earth orbit and deep space supports Europe's navigation, Earth observation, scientific and security programmes. Ongoing development of Europe's space transportation capabilities is made possible by the sustained dedication of thousands of talented people working in ESA's 22 Member States.
At over 60 metres tall, Ariane 6 will weigh almost 900 tonnes when launched with a full payload - roughly equivalent to one and a half Airbus A380 passenger aircraft.
Vinci, the upper stage engine of Ariane 6 fed by liquid hydrogen and oxygen, can be stopped and restarted multiple times - to place satellites into different orbits and then de-orbit the upper stage, so it is not left behind as hazardous debris in space.
For the development of Ariane 6, ESA is working with an industrial network of several hundred companies in 13 European countries, led by prime contractor ArianeGroup.
France’s space agency, CNES, is preparing the Ariane 6 launch facilities at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.

ESA has some interesting projets about that : the little reusable Maia Laucher (2025), and the Prometheus reusables booster (with methane engine like Starship), you have also Themis & Callisto projets

I think it's simpler to do something like vulcan's smart reuse with ariane 7, but it's a little early to say.

@@ladydustin7811 I don't really have anything against Ariane or Vulcan, I was simply wondering if there was a reason it wasn't reusable. People have also been asking it about Vulcan, SLS, and several other new rockets.

It would decrease payload mass to orbit. Also would require additional infrastructure/equipment (Landing pads, recovery vehicles, transport) which is expensive and would take time to implement. Also none of the stages on Ariane 6 are reusable, and would have to be redesigned altogether (new fuel tanks, new engines etc).

Reusability does bring down launch costs, but it is more expensive and complicated and time-consuming to design and manufacture. it's more risky and takes away payload capability. government agencies don't generally like to pay for such things.

There are 2 configurations. The 4 boosters are not necessary for this flight, because the payload is not that heavy.

Can ESA/Arianespace please please please work on a fully reusable heavy lift rocket? This rocket is obsolete before it even flies. (i understand that it is mainly a jobs program like SLS, which is also obsolete and much more expensive). Also, give the european small launch startups a boost. They have some good ideas, and people.

I like the animation and wish success for Ariana 6. But my initial observation is that you really dumbed down the capabilities of the launcher by only launching cubesats in the video. Leave the lightweight stuff for reusable companies.
