Thanks again Miss Ariel. You have no idea what a God send you are. I just retired from adminidtrative work at a hospital in Cali & moved to Greensboro to be closer to my grandson. I started facepainting as a hobby until a friend who saw a talent I hadnt claimed, hired me to do a class picnic event. The joy on a little girls face when she sees that she too can be a beautiful sparkly butterfly or flower, or seeing a young boy realize that he can be his favorite superhero, is quite addicting! I think its awesome that you give of yourself by reaching back and sharing the tips youve learned along the way! I dont think you realize how much of a blessing you are. I look forward to learning more about the business side of this business. I have registered my business name, but was wondering what licensing is required for this type of business?

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it very much. I'll do my best to help with the business side of what I know but I always recommend contacting a CPA, a lawyer and doing research for your state or country. Thanks again for watching and I'm glad I can help.

How sweet of you to let your adoring public hear more about you. Your other videos help me so much with my face paint research (I watched a bunch of your designs, your supply recommendations and your Craft 'n Go set up, SO helpful), but this was a nice break and just a super fun watch. Thanks for sharing!

An excellent video. I particularly loved what you had to say about the way face painting makes you feel. It can be a really hard thing to put into words.. and I've begun to think, a rare quality. Having tried to expand our number of face painters, I've tried to find people who can feel that.. but haven't managed yet. Looking forward to more of your Q&A series... Puzzled by the term LLC.. Thanks
@Arielpaints6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's a hard feeling for me to explain but I think the last year or so I've tried to figure out why I love it so have been analyzing it. An LLC is a Limited Liability Company. I'll explain more in the video 😊

Hi Ariel OMG I'm watch this video and it's like I'm seeing myself in the mirror :) I've just started my face painting business in Jan this year. It started from, I've got an invite to volunteer at my daughter's dance school for their Xmas party 2018. I've got a fine art degree, but this face painting thing has blown me away!!Soon I finished volunteering that Xmas party! I had to beg another friend to volunteer for another party because I was falling in love with it. The reason is exactly the same what you were saying in the video about having that moment with kids. I also love kids but not that I'd like to work in the nursery too :D thank you ever so much for all the videos, they help me lots!! I'm still learning and keep practicing. I started to get some bookings, I'm so excited but also nervous about charging people. And it not easy to put yourself out there too :) many thanks again xx

Hi Ariel! Thank you for the great video. So interesting to hear that you started working at a young age for an art company. I am also into wood burning and furniture design! I don't get much time with the kids but I have sold some pieces and do face painting too. It's good as it fits into life easily. Look forward to the next one. BTW an amazing book is The Journey Home. Available on Amazon. Thank you!!! :))

Hi Ariel! I've been watching your videos for a while now and they've been so helpful!!! I have become a much better face painter just practicing along on a dummy. You're right- face paint is really different. So I wanted to thank you for what you do, but also to ask you if you could do more videos using Starblends? I just haven't gotten comfortable enough with them to use regularly on kids and at jobs. I would also love to hear more about your business practices in face painting, I know that you mentioned you were preparing more content for that as well. I really enjoyed this video about you- we people are always so nosy aren't we? I was surprised to find out how similar we are in personality and interests! I am also an artist and a vegan :3 Much love and keep up the amazing work!
@Arielpaints5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I'll continue to work on some videos with star blends for you. Let me know if there is anything specific you'd like to see. I've been working for a while on a business/contract type video. Hoping to have it up by this week...fingers crossed!!! Thanks for watching and glad I could help.

I love your videos. So realistic to life and time on the job. Been facepainting for about a year now. I am in the Midwest also and loved your answer about FT vs PT. Totally related to the joy you receive #blessedatwhatwedo and so funny you mention lady Gaga..was drive for work and had to download "One good reason to stay" which of course led to listening to all of her new movie soundtrack😀. My business name is Color Your Canvas, keep up the awesome tutorials!

Your videos have been the inspiration for me to begin another career at age 75 😄Thank you so much! I have booked shows large and small, but I am only a beginner. I have some specific questions. I’m already out of space in my Craft n’ Go! I wish to make the foam brush holder that you have. My round brush holder is also confusing & taking up too much room. What kind of foam (and glue?) Did you fold it forward & back snaking it, then slit openings for the brushes? I’m desperate to make it asap. Please help 🙏 Thanks so very very much! 😊
@Arielpaints Жыл бұрын
Hi. It's just a block of foam with slits in it that came with the original craft n go setup years ago. Best bet would be to custom make something from the hardware store I think. I just used velcro to adhere mine.

Thanks for this series! Looking forward to the next video about contracts. Will you be covering what else you need like insurance, business licences, etc. - if or when you need them (if not for every event) etc? I’m hoping to volunteer at my daughters school so do I need to cover myself if volunteering etc.?
@Arielpaints6 жыл бұрын
To the best of my ability, yes. I've always said I don't pretend to be an expert on this topic. I can only speak to what I do and have done. If it were me, I'd have insurance when volunteering. Just because you are a volunteer doesn't mean you wouldn't be liable if something happened.

Thanks for this video, it's really interesting to see how other people came upon the world of face painting. I was interested by you saying you're a vegan. Have you changed the paints you use as a result? Keep up the good work xxx
@Arielpaints6 жыл бұрын
That's such a good question! No, I haven't changed my paint or thrown out my leather purses. So far it's just a dietary change. I like to say I'm 90% vegan because there are some things I do that "real" vegans would balk at.

I love your videos so much I just have one small request 😭 please try and look into the “camera” and not the view finder..I know it’s easier to look at ourselves as we all love a mirror lol but it would come across so much more personal and professional if you tried it? Maybe? Just a suggestion..Heather from faba tv for example is great at this! But anyway please don’t take this the wrong way. If you like staring into the view finder of course it’s your video and I still watch regardless. X

I wish I could say I'll do this but I fear that I'd be out of frame for like 90% of the time and have to re-film all of my videos 😜
